Thunderstorms are expected to develop over eastern Colorado this afternoon and move into western Kansas this evening. There will initially be a threat for hail up to golf ball size along with damaging wind gusts to 60 mph. As the evening progresses and the storms move farther east, the threat will shift more toward high winds and locally heavy rain. At 1135 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 9 miles south of Copeland to 6 miles north of Fowler to 6 miles north of Sitka. Movement was north at 35 mph. Penny size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with these storms. Locations impacted include...
