The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
George County in southeastern Mississippi...
Perry County in southeastern Mississippi...
Stone County in southeastern Mississippi...
* Until 1100 PM CDT.
* At 507 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. As much as 9 to 13 inches of
storm total rainfall has been observed in parts of Stone and Perry
counties. There are continued reports of road closures in the
warned area, as well as numerous roads under water. Rising water
levels near creeks and rivers will continue even after rain has
ended. Flash flooding is expected to continue or worsen with
additional rainfall this evening.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Wiggins, Lucedale, Richton, Perkinston, McHenry, Beaumont and New
Augusta.
Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches with locally higher
amounts are possible in the warned area.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1100 PM CDT FOR
GEORGE...PERRY AND STONE COUNTIES...
At 800 PM CDT, numerous roads remained closed or under water with
significant flash flooding ongoing across much of Stone County.
At 622 PM CDT, Perry County Emergency Management officials reported
water over Wingate Road near New Augusta School.
At 601 PM CDT, Janice Brooklyn Road was reported closed due to flash
flooding.
At 810 PM CDT, Doppler radar continued to indicate showers and
thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall over the warned area. The
strongest storms with the heaviest rain was moving into far
southeastern Perry County, eastern Stone County, and across much of
George County.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Wiggins, Lucedale, Richton, Perkinston, McHenry, Beaumont and New
Augusta.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

GEORGE...PERRY AND STONE COUNTIES...
At 920 PM CDT, Perry County Emergency Management officials reported
flash flooding along Benndale Road near Janice, and Bailey Road,
McKenzie Road, and Old River Road near New Augusta.
At 929 PM CDT, Doppler Radar indicated that showers and storms had
moved out of the warned area. However, excessive runoff from the
earlier heavy rains will continue to result in flash flooding along
area roads this evening.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Wiggins, Lucedale, Richton, Perkinston, McHenry, Beaumont and New
Augusta.
