LIFR conditions expected at MAF/HOB through around 15Z as dense
fog persists. Other TAF sites have been showing some improvement
recently and will likely waver around IFR/MVFR until some
improvement tomorrow, though will not see VFR this TAF period. A
line of TS will impact all TAF sites beginning around 00Z
tomorrow. TAFs have been kept simple due to uncertainties in
bouncing CIG/VIS...will amend as needed.

DISCUSSION...

.Severe thunderstorms possible Tuesday with strong to damaging
winds expected Wednesday across southeast New Mexico and much of
west Texas...

Powerful storm system entering southern California will make its
way eastward across the southern Rockies through Tuesday night and
then into the central Plains by Wednesday. Ahead of this system
areas of fog with elevated showers and thunderstorms will likely
develop in the warm advection regime above the cooler air overnight
and Tuesday morning across much of the region. Some of the fog
could be dense overnight in areas that see less precipitation and
a dense fog advisory may be needed in portions of the plains of west
Texas or southeast New Mexico. By late Tuesday afternoon/early
evening the upper level system will take on a negative tilt as it
approaches New Mexico providing strong lift and upper level
divergence above and along a colliding dryline/Pacific front. A
squall line is expected to develop by early Tuesday evening across
southeast New Mexico and extreme west Texas and move east Tuesday
night. Strong to severe thunderstorms will likely develop with
heavy rainfall and localized flooding as the the squall line
quickly moves east across west Texas.

Behind the dryline/cold front widespread strong to damaging winds
are expected Wednesday through Wednesday night across southeast
New Mexico and west Texas behind this system as it moves into the
central Plains. Progged wind fields through the column indicate
the potential for a high end damaging wind event with wind gusts
of 60 to 80 mph in the plains and over 90 mph in the mountains.
Areas of blowing dust are also expected Wednesday despite the
precipitation expected Tuesday night. Stay tuned for later
updates.

Behind this system cooler (below normal) and dry conditions are
expected Wednesday through the remainder of the week and into the
weekend. A weaker disturbance may set off some showers Friday
night or Saturday but confidence was not high enough to include at
this time.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southeast New
Mexico, southwest Texas, and western Texas.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

A few thunderstorms are possible across the region this afternoon
and evening. Some storms may contain frequent lightning, small hail,
gusty winds, and brief, heavy rainfall. A storm or two could be
severe near the mountain regions, producing large hail.

Areas of fog will continue across portions of West Texas and
southeastern New Mexico through tonight, resulting in low visibility
for some.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

Thunderstorm chances increase Tuesday into Tuesday night. Any storms
that do develop will be accompanied by frequent lightning, small
hail, gusty winds, and brief, heavy rainfall.  Some storms could be
severe, with large hail and damaging winds.

Very windy conditions will be possible Wednesday for much of West
Texas and Southeast New Mexico. A High Wind Watch is in effect for
the Guadalupe Mountains from Tuesday evening through late Wednesday
night and for most other locations from mid morning Wednesday
through
Wednesday evening. In addition to high winds, blowing dust may
result
in periods of low visibility.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not anticipated at this time although may be
needed Tuesday afternoon and evening.
