* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Gaines County in western Texas...

* Until 515 AM CDT.

* At 218 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Up to one inch of rain has
  already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Seminole, Seagraves, Seagraves Airport, Gaines County Airport,
  Loop, Paynes Corner, Higginbotham, McKenzie Lake and Gaines County
  Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

MVFR CIGS continue to be possible area wide overnight. TSRA
expected to continue at CNM/HOB overnight thus, have included
TEMPO TSRA there between 06Z-08Z. Brief window for IFR CIGS after
09Z at MAF but uncertainty remains too low to include in this TAF
cycle. Tomorrow another round of TSRA is possible at all
terminals.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southeast New
Mexico, southwest Texas, and western Texas.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

There is a marginal to slight risk of severe thunderstorms late this
afternoon into tonight from southeastern New Mexico and the Upper
Trans Pecos into the Permian Basin. Large hail and strong winds will
be the main threats though an isolated tornado will also be
possible. Heavy rain in any storms will also create a localized flash
flood threat.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

There is a marginal to slight risk of severe thunderstorms on Tuesday
for southeast New Mexico and West Texas. Large hail and strong winds will
be the main threats though an isolated tornado will also be possible.
Heavy rain in any storms will also create a localized flash flood
threat.

At 908 PM MDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Carlsbad,
moving northeast at 35 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail are possible with this
storm.

Locations impacted include...
Carlsbad, Loving, Avalon, Carlsbad North, Malaga, Lake Avalon, Otis,
Cavern City Air Terminal and Living Desert State Park.

At 1020 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 20
miles northeast of Red Bluff Reservoir, or 25 miles west of Jal,
moving northeast at 35 mph.

Pea size hail will be possible with this storm.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of southeastern Eddy
and southwestern Lea Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
