The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Central Lumpkin County in north central Georgia...
  Southwestern White County in northeastern Georgia...
  South central Union County in north central Georgia...

* Until 115 AM EDT.
    
* At 1258 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
  tornado was located over Camp Merrill, or 7 miles northwest of
  Dahlonega, moving east at 70 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 
           damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
  Dahlonega, Camp Coleman Lake, Camp Merrill, Hawk Mountain Shelter,
  Garland, Porter Springs, Turners Corner, Nimblewill and Gooch
  Mountain Shelter.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter

...THE TORNADO WARNING FOR CENTRAL LUMPKIN...SOUTHWESTERN WHITE AND
SOUTH CENTRAL UNION COUNTIES WILL EXPIRE AT 115 AM EDT...
    
The tornado threat has diminished and the Tornado Warning has been 
cancelled. However, damaging winds remain likely and a Severe 
Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect for the area.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 500 AM EDT for
north central and northeastern Georgia.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
Peachtree City.

Remember, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning still remains in effect for
Lumpkin, Union, and White Counties.
