The very short term remains in the calm before the storm. Mid level
s/w ridge out ahead of the developing storm will allow for another
relatively tranquil day on Tuesday. A weak wave may bring some light
showers to the area, but nothing substantial. With more clouds and a
slightly cooler airmass coming in tnt, temperatures on Tuesday will
be cooler. Light winds tnt should allow for cool overnight lows, but
some clouds could also keep temperatures up, especially over the
southwest cwa.
.LONG TERM...(Tuesday Night through Monday)

Main focus is on winter storm coming, however main concern is minor
shifts in the storm track for midweek, though more importantly is
the dry air aloft thats been captured in the GFS and also seems to
be being incorporated into the Canadian and ECMWF, which drops
precipitation amounts across the northern tier of counties up to but
not including the Coteau/western Minnesota. This dry air feature
does show up in the NAM, however the NAM doesn't force it this far
south and as such is an outlier of deterministic guidance. PWAT
anomalies are not terribly high, briefly a standard deviation or two
in the GEFS Wednesday. The NAM, which is on the higher end of
guidance, is closer to 0.75-0.9 inches. Thus, can still anticipate
heavy wet snow for a good part of the central/eastern CWA. Otherwise
wind intensity will remain about the same with the gust range
between 40 and 50mph. No major changes to headlines at this point.

Tuesday evening with ceilings lowering to MVFR.
