.DISCUSSION...
Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue to propagate slowly
south and west this afternoon in moist/unstable air-mass on north
side of easterly wave. A few of these storms could produce gusty
winds with locally heavy rainfall likely in the stronger cells.
Storms will begin to dissipate early this evening with loss of
surface heating.

Heat advisory remains in effect for most of eastern Oklahoma and
west-central Arkansas through this evening with heat indices in
the 105 to 110 degree range this afternoon. Although hot/humid
conditions will persist on Wednesday, should see a modest increase
in cloud cover with slightly drier air which should keep most
areas at or below 105 for heat index values Wednesday afternoon.

Scattered storms will again be possible across SE OK on Thursday
as upper high begins to shift back westward. This will allow a
weak backdoor cold front to move through the area on Friday with a
continued chance of storms. Drier air will filter into the region
behind front over the weekend with precipitation chances shifting
south of the area.
