At 445 PM EST, a severe thunderstorm was located 12 miles southeast
of Quitman, moving northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Lake Park, Valdosta, I-75 At Exit 16, Remerton, Dasher, Twin Lakes,
Cherry Lake, Pinetta, Valdosta Regional Airport, Kinderlou, I-75 At
Exit 5, Nankin, Clyattville, Blue Springs and I-75 At Exit 11.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading

.NEAR TERM [Through Tonight]...

Complex of storms ahead of the cold front continues to bring showers
and thunderstorms to the tri-state area but the overall focus has
shifted eastward. Bulk of convection should remain south of a line
from Bay County FL to Berrien County GA tonight. Unfortunately,
instability and shear remain favorable enough that severe threat
will persist through tonight, although should lessen slightly with
decreasing CAPE values (though still sufficient for svr storms).

Flooding remains another threat for tonight with training storms and
high rainfall rates. The main threat for this is across the
southeastern two-thirds of the CWA, generally in the Bay to Berrien
County area. Widespread one to three inches of rain will be possible
through tonight. While much of the heavier rain is expected south of
the higher values received today, there is some overlap across the
FL Panhandle into southwest Georgia area. The Flash Flood Watch
continues to remain in effect.

Will see the biggest difference in lows tonight across the DHN to
ABY areas with lows in the mid to upper 50s. However further south,
across the Florida Panhandle and Big Bend, lows will only fall into
the 60s. Overall these values are cooler than last night though,
except similar temperatures for the southeast Big Bend area.

.SHORT TERM [Monday Through Tuesday Night]...

The threat for widespread and potentially heavy rains will
continue on Monday but rain will begin to taper off from northwest
to southeast as the cold front finally pushes through our region.
The best chances for heavy rain will be across our Florida zones
and our southern tier Georgia zones. The flash Flood Watch will
continue through Monday. Cooler and a much drier airmass will
return to the area Monday night through Tuesday night. Lows Monday
night will range from the lower 40s northwest to mid 50s far
southeast. Lows Tuesday night will drop into the mid to upper 30s
for all but the southeast Big Bend (around 40). Highs Tuesday
will range from the upper 50s northwest to upper 60s southeast.

.LONG TERM [Wednesday Through Sunday]...

Dry weather is expected through Friday as high pressure builds
into the area. Rain chances return on Saturday with the approach
of the next cold front. Temperatures will start quite chilly with
highs only in the 50s Wednesday and possibly a widespread light
freeze Wednesday night. Over the weekend, temps rebound to near
seasonal levels.

.AVIATION...
[Through 18Z Monday]

SHRA and TSRA will continue around the TAF sites through tonight.
While TAFs show most likely timing of TSRA, thunderstorms are
possible outside of those times. CIGS will continue to vary
mainly around MVFR, however expect conditions to fall to LIFR to
IFR overnight.

.MARINE...

Winds and seas have continued to diminish across the local waters
but showers and thunderstorms will persist through Monday. A cold
front will push through the waters by Monday night ushering in a
period of moderate to strong northerly winds and elevated seas.

.FIRE WEATHER...

Other than low dispersions, widespread rainfall will preclude any
fire weather concerns through the period.

.HYDROLOGY...

A flash flood watch remains in effect for all but the southern Big
Bend through Monday and significant rises on many area rivers are
occurring and expected to continue. A wide swatch of 3 to 5 inches
of rain have already fallen with isolated amounts as high as 7 to
8 inches. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are
possible across the watch area through Monday. Isolated higher
amounts are possible. This amount of rainfall could cause flash
flooding issues and rises on area rivers and streams.

At 351 PM EST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Monticello to 17 miles east of Tallahassee
to near Woodville. Movement was east at 20 mph.

Quarter inch hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible
with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Monticello, Tallahassee, Greenville, Alma, Dills, Cody, Lamont, Nash,
Thomas City, Drifton, Lovett, Casa Blanco, Chaires, Empress,
Waukeenah, Wacissa, Wacissa Springs, Apalachee Regional Park, Chaires
Crossroads and Aucilla.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
