The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Tornado Watch for portions of 
  Nebraska

* Effective this Friday afternoon and evening from 355 PM until
  1100 PM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  A few tornadoes possible
  Widespread large hail and scattered very large hail events to 3
    inches in diameter likely
  Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts
    to 75 mph possible

SUMMARY...An extremely unstable air mass continues to evolve
especially across central Nebraska, with increasingly intense storm
development expected initially across west-central Nebraska through
late afternoon. The environment favors supercells capable of very
large hail along with some tornado risk, particularly as
temperatures cool this evening and low-level shear increases.
Additional southward storm development can be expected by evening,
including the potential of an organized and
east/southeastward-accelerating cluster of storms capable of
widespread wind damage and hail.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 80 statute miles
east and west of a line from 30 miles north northeast of Ainsworth
NE to 40 miles south of Hastings NE. For a complete depiction of the

tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
