* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Throckmorton County in west central Texas...

* Until 345 PM CDT.

* At 1249 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Over 2 inches of rain has 
  already fallen just north and northwest of Throckmorton and just 
  west of Elbert. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Throckmorton, Woodson, Elbert, Millers Creek Reservoir, The
  Intersection Of Us-183 And Us-283, Us-183 Near The Throckmorton-
  Baylor County Line, Lusk, The Intersection Of Us-
  380 And Highway 222 and The Intersection Of Us-
  283 And Ranch Road 209.

THROCKMORTON COUNTY...

At 203 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 
rain across the warned area. One to two inches of rain has fallen 
during the past hour across southwest Throckmorton County. Flash 
flooding is expected to begin shortly.

Intersection Of Us-183 And Us-283, Us-183 Near The Throckmorton-

CIGs will remain across all terminals, though there could be
brief breaks in the clouds to allow for VFR conditions between
20-22z. Any +SHRA/TSRA through 12Z Sat are likely to produce local
vis down to 1/4 sm and local CIGs at or below 500 ft agl. Winds
will remain light primarily from the south to southeast around 5
to 10 knots. Will continue to carry the mention for SHRA/TSRA's at
all terminals and will amend as needed to account for exact
impacts to the terminals in TEMPO groups.

dissipating in most areas by 18Z today, then possibly re-
developing after 03Z Sat. SHRA/TSRA may diminish during 00Z-12Z
Sat time period. Any +SHRA/TSRA through 12Z Sat are likely to
produce local vis down to 1/4 sm and local CIGs at or below 500 ft
agl. CB tops to 45000-50000 ft agl. Winds mostly less than 10 KT.
Confidence in timing of heaviest rain and consequently lowest
CIGs/VIS at TAF sites is low.

SHORT TERM...
(Today and Tonight)

Radar imagery early this morning shows an area of light showers in
the Concho Valley, and not much elsewhere. However, hi-res models
indicate that showers and thunderstorms will re-develop and increase
in coverage starting around sunrise today and continuing through the
afternoon hours as another front/boundary moves down from the north.
Also, precipitable water will still be quite high at 1.8 to 2.1
inches across the area. This amount of atmospheric moisture will
result in very efficient rainfall from showers/thunderstorms that
occur. 4 km NAM and HRRR are indicating rainfall rates of 2-4 inches
in 3 hours from the heavier precipitation, with the HRRR also
indicating one hour rates of 2-3 inches. Considering the heavy
rainfall rates and the already saturated soils across the region,
have issued a Flash Flood Watch effective this morning through late
tonight. Although most models show the front moving down into our
southern counties by early or mid evening with a decrease in
precipitation chances behind the front, the NAM12 is much slower and
still has bands of heavy showers during the evening and late night
hours.

With extensive cloud cover expected today, highs will be in the
upper 70s to low 80s, with lows tonight in the upper 60s to low 70s.

LONG TERM...
(Saturday through Thursday)

Rain will likely continue into Saturday as the boundary makes slow
progress southward toward Central Texas and abundant moisture
remains over the area. Will begin to see rain taper off from west
to east on Sunday as the front and upper trough sag southward
toward the coast. An upper ridge builds back into west Texas for
early next week, with highs warming back into the 90s by Tuesday
and Wednesday. Rain may try to enter back into the forecast for
next weekend as an upper low moves in from the east, but
confidence is low at this point.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of west central
Texas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Showers and thunderstorms will develop today into tonight. Some
of the rainfall will be heavy at times. The heavy rainfall, in
addition to already saturated soils, will result in an increased
flash flood threat. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect from this
morning through late tonight. Deadly lightning will also be a
concern.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

Periods of showers and thunderstorms will likely continue
Saturday, with lesser rainfall chances on Sunday. Some of the
rainfall may be heavy at times. Thus, possible flash flooding and
deadly lightning will remain the primary hazards.
