Even as colder air was rushing into the area, rapid river and
stream rises were occurring overnight. This was in response to
one and a half to two and a half inches of rain that fell over the
past two days, in addition to snow melt. Some of streams were
approaching bankfull, and even some rivers were getting high
enough to cause some flooding of the most vulnerable low lying
areas along them.

There were isolated reports of roads blocked by high water.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it
is harder to recognize the depth of the water.
