* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* The river is expected to reach flood stage this evening and remain in flood
into Wednesday morning.
* Impact...At 9.1 feet...This is the 50 percent chance flood meaning
there is a 50 percent chance in any given year of the river
reaching this level. Floodwaters are over a baseball diamond near 6
Mile Road. There is flooding to lowland and agricultural land.

* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow afternoon and
continue to rise to near 17.8 feet by Thursday early afternoon.the
river will fall below flood stage by Saturday early afternoon.
* Impact...At 17.8 feet...In the Blackhawk Park area in the Town of
Caledonia, Old River Road is closed with water over it. West Lane
Road in the Long Lake area is closed with about 4 feet of water
over it in places. wood Street in the Blackhawk Park area is
affected by floodwaters. County Highway V and Oak Knoll Road in the
Town of Dekorra have water up to the edge of the pavement. A few
homes in the Town of Dekorra area near the river have water in the
first floor and there is also flooding of outbuildings and yards.

* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by late this afternoon and
continue to rise to near 17.8 feet by tomorrow early afternoon. The
river will fall below flood stage by Saturday early afternoon.
* Impact...At 17.8 feet...In the Blackhawk Park area in the Town of
Caledonia, Old River Road is closed with water over it. West Lane
Road in the Long Lake area is closed with about 4 feet of water

Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 259 PM CDT Tue Jun 19 2018 .SHORT TERM... Tonight and Wednesday...Forecast Confidence is high. Deep layer moisture will gradually wane into tomorrow as a drier airmass advects in from the north. While the surface frontal zone remains draped to our south, it should stay close enough for scattered showers to continue into early Wednesday morning. With both surface based and most unstable CAPE remaining tied to areas along and south of the surface front, thunder chances appear quite low and will pull the mention from the grids for tonight. The 19.18z HRRR model solution does bring some weakening convection close to Racine and Kenosha Counties around 2-3z this evening, but this solution is, as of yet, unsupported among the other convective allowing models. If this solution appears more plausible, it's possible that PoPs and QPF may need to be increased in our far southeast tonight, but not willing to bite off on this single model solution just yet. Temperatures will remain on the cool side for tomorrow with northeasterly flow and persistent cloud cover. Look for highs to range from the upper 60s in the east to the mid 70s in the west. .LONG TERM... Wednesday night through Saturday...Forecast confidence is medium to high: A slow moving low pressure system will gradually pass by well to the south mid to late week, eventually lifting northeast into Michigan by Saturday morning. Models are in pretty good agreement with the track and timing of this system. There are some differences though with the strength and moisture among models though, which is impacting the resultant rain chances for southern Wisconsin. The GFS and NAM suggest mainly dry conditions through Friday, while the ECMWF and Canadian solutions would bring showers to southern Wisconsin Wed night through Fri. The GFS remains dry for Sat, while the ECMWF and Canadian have decreasing chances as the low pulls away. Do have some slight chance to chance thunder mention in with this low, but not very confident there will be much thunder as most of the instability will remain to the south of Wisconsin. Temps are expected to be 5-10 degrees below normal through Saturday. Sunday through Tuesday...Forecast confidence is medium to high: There could be a few showers/storms on Sunday as a week wave moves through, with high pressure bringing a return of dry weather for Monday. Showers and storms are then possible Tuesday as low pressure moves through the area. Temps should warm back up to around normal early next week. && .AVIATION(21Z TAFS)... Made adjustments to account for the persistent IFR/LIFR cloud deck and drizzle over eastern areas. Based on upstream observations, there may be some improvement by this evening, but this has yet to materialize, so will stay pessimistic with the ceiling forecast into this evening for now. May see brief visibility reductions in VCSH this afternoon and evening, with a rumble of thunder possible, but not likely.
