* At 10:00 AM Tuesday the stage was 15.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by early tomorrow and continue to
rise to near 17.9 feet by tomorrow evening.the river will fall
below flood stage by Saturday evening.
* Impact...At 17.8 feet...In the Blackhawk Park area in the Town of
Caledonia, Old River Road is closed with water over it. West Lane
Road in the Long Lake area is closed with about 4 feet of water
over it in places. wood Street in the Blackhawk Park area is
affected by floodwaters. County Highway V and Oak Knoll Road in the
Town of Dekorra have water up to the edge of the pavement. A few
homes in the Town of Dekorra area near the river have water in the
first floor and there is also flooding of outbuildings and yards.

Showers and a few thunderstorms continue moving east across southern Wisconsin this morning. There has been a general decrease in intensity, with only a few cloud to ground lightning strikes noted in Racine and Kenosha Counties. Given this, removed the thunder mention for our northern areas into early this afternoon. Also made some changes to increase PoPs for the areas with definite rain this morning. Otherwise, the forecast looks to be in good shape. && .MARINE... Showers and a few thunderstorms will continue this morning, before diminishing this afternoon. East winds are expected, with winds and waves remaining below small craft advisory levels over the next few days. && .PREV DISCUSSION... (Issued 628 AM CDT Tue Jun 19 2018) UPDATE... Periods of light showers and storms continue sweep across the forecast area. All forecast guidance is still indicating these on-and-off showers and storms will continue through the morning. AVIATION(12Z TAFS)... Yet another area of showers has pushed into southern Wisconsin, with more light precipitation developing just upstream. This pattern of on and off precip is expected to continue through at least the late morning, before diminishing in coverage this afternoon. Cigs continue to be a challenge this morning. Over the last few hours, upstream observations have been bouncing anywhere between IFR and VFR while cigs across southern Wisconsin have generally been slowly improving. The meso models continue to show IFR over the TAF sites through much of the morning, but given the improving cigs currently overhead and the sporadic observations upstream, I don't have very much confidence in cigs actually dropping to IFR this morning. PREV DISCUSSION... (Issued 344 AM CDT Tue Jun 19 2018) SHORT TERM... Today and Tonight...Forecast Confidence is Medium... The low level frontal zone will remain in place atop southern Wisconsin through much of this morning and into the afternoon. This will set the stage for on and off showers and a few thunderstorms into the early afternoon. The front will gradually weaken through the day, diminishing shower chances into the afternoon. Cloudy skies and east winds will keep temps much cooler than what we've seen for the last several days with high temperatures only reaching into the 60s across much of the area. LONG TERM... Wednesday through Saturday... Forecast confidence is medium to high. The models generally agree that a low pressure system will move through central Illinois bringing the chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms across southern Wisconsin with the best chance for the next round of precipitation on Friday night and into Saturday morning. Large scale instability will remain to the south as the trough moves through, but winds will gradually shift from west to north west creating a temperature gradient across much of Wisconsin. Look for temperatures in the upper 60's near the lake with warmer conditions inland later in the week. Temperatures should be more seasonal when compared to last weekend. Sunday through Monday... Forecast confidence is medium. High pressure will maintain control over much of Wisconsin after Saturday's precipitation moves through bringing clear conditions with temperatures in the mid to upper 70's across much of Wisconsin. Temperatures will be cooler near the lake with winds out of the east becoming southeast into late Sunday and early Monday. Precipitation is expected at some point early to mid next week but the timing of the subsequent system and front is not clear. AVIATION(09Z TAFS)... An area of showers and a few storms are currently departing MSN and will impact the other TAF sites within the next couple of hours. Behind this wave of showers and storms, high res guidance is depicting IFR cigs building in at all TAF sites this morning. This matches upstream observations across NE IA and SE MN, and especially makes sense near Lake Michigan given the east flow off of the lake. Additional rounds of showers and a few storms are expected though the morning, lasting perhaps into the afternoon. Unfortunately it's difficult to pin down the exact timing of the additional precip more than a few hours out, so TAFs will be frequently updated to account of this. I do expect cigs to rise somewhat in the late morning and into the early afternoon. MARINE... On and off showers, along with a few thunderstorms, will persist into the late morning, diminishing in the afternoon.
