  Eastern Hot Spring County in southwestern Arkansas...

* Until 845 AM CST

* At 549 AM CST, Dam Operators reported elevated releases at Remmel
  Dam on the Ouachita River.

This is a routine high water event which will result in lowland
flooding along the Ouachita River in Hot Spring County. The current 
flow rate from Remmel Dam at 4 AM is forty four thousand cubic feet 
per second. Initial impacts from Remmel Dam releases will reach the 
bridge on Interstate 30 near Malvern within 1 to 2 hours, with 
maximum impacts occurring within the next 2 to 3 hours. Initial 
impacts will reach Donaldson within the next 3 to 6 hours, with the 
maximum impacts occurring within the next 6 to 8 hours. Impacts will 
reach Friendship in about 10 to 12 hours. Livestock and property 
should be moved out of the floodplain. Flooded roadways should be 
avoided.

* Locations in the warning include but are not limited to areas along
  the Ouachita River near Oak Grove, Midway, Friendship, and Jones
  Mill.

.Short Term...Today Through Friday Night

Rain, rain and more rain! Widespread rain/embedded TSRA has been
noted acrs much of the FA overnight and early this mrng. Numerous
reports of flash flooding have already been reported acrs central
and south AR, along with ongoing river flooding.

SW flow aloft has contd to bring a steady stream of moisture/lift
acrs AR of late. The ongoing precip is being aided by an old fntl
bndry, stalled out just to the S of the FA, along with an MCV that
was movg acrs Srn AR. Hi-Res model data cont to show that the
primary area of rain wl gradually dcrs fm the west later this mrng
as an upr lvl trof moves into the region. Wl keep the Flood Watch
posted until noontime today as the flooding threat conts.

Meanwhile, a frontal bndry was just entering the NW corner of AR wl
eventually drop SEwd thru AR later today. Cannot rule out some sctd
rain along the fnt itself. Otherwise, drier air to filter into the
region behind the FROPA.

High pres wl settle into AR for the rest of the fcst PD, providing a
much needed break from the wet weather pattern of late.

.Long Term....Saturday through Wednesday

Initially, surface high pressure will shift to the east, with
temperatures warming a little as winds become more southerly/
southeasterly. A remnant boundary to the southwest will move back to
the north Saturday night into Sunday, with showers and thunderstorms
returning to the forecast as a mid-level trough moves through and
interacts with the remnant boundary. Precip will become a little
more widespread on Sunday night as developing low pressure in the
plains drags a cold front across the state.

Any lingering precip will come to an end around Monday afternoon or
evening, with colder air following the system. With a deepening
upper cyclone in the mid west/western Great Lakes Region, upper flow
will become more northwesterly, with cooler air remaining in place
through at least mid-week next week. For us, this will mean
temperatures below seasonal averages and, over all, fairly nice
weather for the first few days of March. Goodness knows it could
always be (and has been) much worse before.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for a Large Part of Arkansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Widespread rain and embedded thunderstorms will continue across
much of Arkansas this morning. The rainfall will eventually taper
off from the west as the day progresses, once a cold front moves
across the state.

Much of central and southern Arkansas has seen between one and
three inches of rainfall over the last 24 hours. This has only
aggravated the flooding situation across the area. Excessive runoff
will continue today, even well after the rain ends.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday Through Wednesday

Rain chances return to the forecast on Sunday with the next weather
system to affect the region. At this time, severe thunderstorms
are not expected.

Due to the recent prolonged period of heavy rainfall, river stages
are expected to remain high into next week. Flooding will continue
in several river basins, including the Black, White, Cache,
Ouachita, and Saline Rivers.
