Sfc obs indicate the bulk of the low ceilings and all of the lower
visibilities have improved from earlier this morning...and
ceilings should improve next hour or so. Widely scattered showers
continue across the area ahead of the main line of showers
associated with the approaching cold front...expect its passage
across the area beginning 22z or so, eventually moving out 03z-04z
this evening. High res guidance looks a little more bullish on
thunder potential along the line, however have just continued
inherited plan of carrying VCTS but not any higher thunder chances
for now. Post-FROPA, expecting a return to lower ceilings plus
bluster nwrly/nrly winds...with the wrn terminals seeing VFR
conditions around or just after sunrise. VCSH for the shortwave
passage overnight still looks good.

UPDATE...
Surface observations and skycams indicate that visibilities have
improved above one quarter mile in the areas that are currently
experiencing fog. Short term model guidance indicate that the fog
should continue to quickly dissipate over the next 1-2 hours and
allow for conditions to improve. Therefore, the Dense Fog
Advisories have been allowed to expire. However, patchy light fog
may linger across portions of SW Louisiana through noon today.
The main weather maker today will be the strong cold front moving
across the region late this afternoon and early this evening. The
latest model guidance continues to indicate that the cold front
will move through SE Texas between 2 PM - 5 PM, far SW Louisiana
between 4 PM - 8 PM, and Acadiana between 6 PM - midnight.
Overall, the inherited forecast looks to be on track. The only
changes made were to split up this evening's precipitation
chances to three hour blocks and make adjustments to better
reflect the end of rain/thunderstorms with the passage of the cold
front.

this morning from low ceilings and/or fog. Conditions are
expected to gradually improve through the morning. Radar showing

DISCUSSION...
Cloudy skies with areas of fog around the region this morning.
Visibility changing as streamer showers move onshore and washout
the fog a bit. Otherwise temperatures have held in the mid to
upper 50s.
Well changes are on the way as another strong cold front pushing
through north Texas this morning is expected to move through
southeast Texas around or just after sunset and through southern
Louisiana during the evening/overnight hours. Showers and
thunderstorms will be on the increase this afternoon into tonight.
As this is a fast moving system rainfall totals are expected to
to range from one to two inches with a few locations getting a bit
more. The potential for severe weather remains limited w/ precip
water around 1.2 to 1.5 inches CAPE around 400 to 500 j/kg with
MUCAPE 467 j/kg... LI's will be about -3 and Helicity 0-3km... 71
m2/s2. An upper level trof and low level directional convergence
will also support precipitation. Will see a couple of strong
storms but they should remain below severe wx criteria.
Strong cold air advection will drop temperatures pretty fast
behind the front w/ winds becmg nw and gusty. In the coastal
waters a Gale Warning and a Small Craft Warning have been posted
for this evening through tomorrow. Seas building. Temperatures
tomorrow morning will be about 20 degrees lower than this morning
w/ a wind chill down towards the freezing mark. Looking for a
small warmup tomorrow afternoon as clouds are expected to break
during the afternoon hours. This weekend is shaping up to be cold
and dry one.

Ebenezer, moving east at 35 mph.
Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm.
Locations impacted include...
Toledo Bend Dam, Ebenezer, Burkeville, Browndell, Farrsville,
Harrisburg, Mayflower, Sam Rayburn Dam and Wiergate.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If on or near Lake Sam Rayburn, get out of the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to
10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you
are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter
now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
