The National Weather Service in The San Francisco Bay Area has issued
a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  South central Alameda County in northern California...

* Until 530 PM PST Tuesday

* At 929 AM PST, stream gage reports indicated rapid rises on
  Alameda Creek near Niles and upper Alameda Creek above the
  Diversion Dam (upstream of Calaveras Reservoir). 

* Numerous reports have been received this morning of mud and rock
  slides in Niles Canyon.

* Alameda Creek near Niles is rising above flood stage and is
  forecast to rise to 9.8 feet (flood stage is 9.0 feet) later this
  afternoon.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Niles Canyon and other low-lying unincorporated areas of Alameda
  County along Alameda Creek upstream of Fremont.

Excessive rainfall over the warned area will cause mud slides near
steep terrain. The mud slide can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and
other loose materials.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
