Hazardous Weather Outlook...UPDATED

450 PM CDT Thu Jun 22 2017

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of south central
Alabama...southwest Alabama...northwest Florida and southeast
Mississippi.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

There are indications that the flash flooding threat will
gradually shift more west, becoming aligned from the Tennessee
River Valley to off the Louisiana coast through the night. Within
this axis, bands of showers and scattered storms look to lift
northeast across the local area with the better coverages setting
up along and west of Interstate 65. With soil moisture to
capacity, any additional heavy rains will likely lead to runoff
and additional flooding problems.

Dangerous surf conditions will continue, with long period swell
and breakers of 5 to 8 feet moving up into the surf zone. A high
surf advisory and a high risk of dangerous to potentially deadly
rip currents continue.

Minor coastal flooding of the typically flood prone coastal roads
along Alabama and northwest Florida panhandle beaches is likely to
continue.

Isolated storms will be capable of producing brief tornadoes.

Strong southerly winds will remain along the immediate Alabama
and western Florida panhandle coast. Sustained winds of 20 to 30
mph with occasional higher gusts are expected. Thus, a Wind
Advisory remains in effect through 6 PM.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Dangerous surf conditions will likely persist into Friday as long
periods swells continue to come ashore. High risk of dangerous to
potentially deadly rip currents looks to persist into the day
Friday.

Flash flood threat continues to remain higher generally along and
west of a line from Butler to Chatom Alabama to Leakesville
Mississippi on Friday. A frontal boundary sinking southward to
the coast on Saturday brings more storms to the local area. More
heavy rain is possible.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Activation of SkyWarn Severe Storm Spotter networks is not
expected through Wednesday.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the coastal
waters of Alabama and northwest Florida.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

Hazardous conditions for smaller marine craft will continue with
strong southerly winds and high seas continuing. Visibility could
be reduced to less than a mile at times with the passage of any
storms that contain heavy rain.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Although southerly winds decrease some on Friday, seas will be
slow to subside and will maintain hazardous conditions for small
marine craft. Winds, waves and seas will be locally higher with
the passage of marine storms into the weekend. Visibility could
be reduced to less than a mile at times with the passage of any
storms that contain heavy rain.
