This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of western and
north central Nebraska.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT.

As a warm front slowly lifts north across southwest Nebraska
tonight. There is some potential for stronger, organized
thunderstorm activity along and north of the front this evening.
The area of concern is near and north of a line from Grant through
Curtis. The main concerns will be strong thunderstorm wind gusts
of 50 mph or greater, and hail up to nickel size.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.

The next chance for organized thunderstorms will arrive Wednesday
and Wednesday night. For Thursday and beyond, an upper level
ridge will build across the region, with only isolated
thunderstorms possible, mainly during the late afternoon and
evening hours.

At 1026 PM CDT/926 PM MDT/, Doppler radar was tracking a strong
thunderstorm near Sarben, or 25 miles east of Ogallala, moving east
at 30 mph.

Half inch hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this
storm.

Locations impacted include...
Sutherland, Paxton, Sarben, Coker, Big Bald Hill and Nevens.

This includes Highway 97 between mile markers 2 and 18.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

If on or near Sutherland Reservoir, get out of the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Tryon, Shimmons Lake and Highway 83 crossing The Dismal River.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 92 between mile markers 197 and 206.
 Highway 97 between mile markers 32 and 48.
 Highway 83 between mile markers 124 and 132.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
