...The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Flood
Warning for portions of the following rivers in central and southern
Indiana...
East Fork White River...White River...Wabash River...
.Lowland flooding will develop along rivers in central and southern
Indiana. Significant flooding is not expected. Flooding will affect
some local and state roads...low agricultural land and some river
parks. Flooding is ongoing along portions of the White and Wabash
rivers and will proceed downstream for the coming week. Flooding will
begin by early Monday morning for portions of the East Fork White
River.
Up to 3 inches of rain fell across central Indiana on Saturday which
is causing rivers to rise into minor flood stages.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

.Heavy rainfall fell Saturday totaling up to between 2 and 3 inches
at some locations across northern central Indiana which is causing
minor river flooding. The heaviest of this rainfall fell from eastern
Warren County to Howard County, and northern Fountain County to
Hamilton County.
Significant flooding is not expected. Flooding has the potential to
last until next weekend.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in
Indiana...
East Fork White River...Mississinewa River...Wabash River...White
River...Wildcat Creek...
.Heavy rainfall Saturday of up to nearly 3 inches, as estimated
by radar, fell across northern central Indiana. The heaviest
of this rainfall fell from eastern Warren County to Howard County,
and northern Fountain County to Hamilton County.
Moderate flooding is expected for a short time in the Lafayette area
as the river level comes to a crest tonight. This will affect all
parks in Lafayette and West Lafayette, some state, county, and local
roads, river cabins, and many acres of agricultural land. Flooding of
this extent has not been seen in this area since mid-July.
Dry weather is in the forecast and will thus aid bringing an end
to the flooding. The crest along the Wabash River is expected to
reach Covington Monday night, Montezuma late Tuesday, and then Terre
Haute Wednesday night.
Flooding on the White River is expected to be much less extensive
due to not receiving as much rainfall, with crests no more than
about 1.5 feet above flood stage. The crest late Sunday afternoon
was near Muncie, and should reach Ravenswood Monday morning,
Elliston Thursday morning, and then Edwardsport Friday evening.
Flooding along central/southern Indiana area rivers may last into
early next week. Additional flood warnings may be needed for this
event.

.Heavy rainfall Saturday of up to nearly 3 inches, as estimated
by radar, fell across northern central Indiana. The heaviest
of this rainfall fell from eastern Warren County to Howard County,
and northern Fountain County to Hamilton County.
Moderate flooding is expected for a short time in the Lafayette area
as the river level comes to a crest very early Monday with a river
level 7.2 feet above crest. This will affect all parks in
Lafayette and West Lafayette, some state, county, and local roads,
river cabins, and many acres of agricultural land. Flooding of this
extent has not been seen in this area since mid-July.
Dry weather is in the forecast and will thus aid bringing an end
to the flooding. The crest along the Wabash River is expected to
reach Covington Tuesday morning, Montezuma Tuesday evening, and then
Terre Haute Wednesday night.
Flooding on the White River is expected to be much less extensive
due to not receiving as much rainfall, with crests no more than
about 2 feet above flood stage. The crest late Sunday
evening was in the vicinity of Noblesville, and should
reach Nora and Ravenswood late Monday morning, Spencer Wednesday
afternoon, and then Edwardsport Friday evening.
Flooding along central/southern Indiana area rivers may last into
early next week. Additional flood warnings may be needed for this
event.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

central and southern Indiana. This is the first flood event for the
Wabash River since July. High water along the White River was or
will be slightly higher than levels seen earlier in November.
Flooding is a result of 2 to nearly 4 inches of rain dumped by severe
storms on Saturday in central and northern Indiana along and north of
I-70.
As of early Monday afternoon...the White River was at or near crest
in the Indianapolis area. The flood crest in the Spencer ...
Bloomfield and Edwardsport areas will arrive by Friday. On the
Wabash River...the flood crest passed Lafayette early Monday
morning. The river will crest north of I-70 by Saturday and south of
I-70 by Tuesday...November 28.
Little or no rain is expected this week. Dry weather will allow

.Flooding warnings continue for the Wabash and White Rivers in
central and southern Indiana. This is the first flood event for the
Wabash River since July. High water along the White River was, or
will be, slightly higher than levels seen earlier in November.
Flooding is a result of 2 to nearly 4 inches of rain dumped by severe
storms on Saturday in central and northern Indiana along and north of
I-70.
As of late Monday evening...the White River was at or near crest
in the Indianapolis area. The flood crest in the Spencer ...
Bloomfield and Edwardsport areas will arrive by late Thursday.
On the Wabash River...the flood crest passed Lafayette early Monday
morning. The river will crest north of I-70 by Friday and
south of I-70 by Monday, November 27.
Little or no rain is expected this week. Dry weather will allow
creeks and rivers to recede rather quickly.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go

.Flood warnings continue for the Wabash and White Rivers in central
and southern Indiana. This is the first flood event for the
Wabash River since July. High water along the White River was, or
will be, slightly higher than levels seen earlier in November.
Flooding is a result of 2 to nearly 4 inches of rain dumped by
thunderstorms on Saturday in central and northern Indiana along and
north of Interstate 70.
As of late Tuesday evening...the crest on the White River was
slightly downstream of Centerton. The flood crest will reach
Spencer tonight, Bloomfield Thursday, and Thursday night. On the
Wabash River...the flood crest was slightly downstream of Covington
and is forecast to arrive in Terre Haute by Friday the 24th.
Little or no rain is expected this week. Dry weather will allow
area creeks and rivers to recede rather quickly.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

Flooding is a result of 2 to nearly 4 inches of rain dumped by
thunderstorms on Saturday in central and northern Indiana along and
north of Interstate 70.
As of Thursday morning, the crest on the Wabash River was
near Clinton and is forecast to arrive in the Terre Haute
area by Friday the 24th.
Little or no rain is expected this week. Dry weather will allow
area creeks and rivers to recede rather quickly.

Vigo County. The wetland projects between U.S. 40 and I-70
begin to slowly fill.

.Flood warnings continue in west central Indiana on the Wabash River
at Montezuma, Terre Haute, Hutsonville and Riverton. Warnings for
Montezuma and Terre Haute are expected to be no longer be needed by
noon today. The crest as of mid-Sunday morning was in the
vicinity of Hutsonville and Riverton. The crest should reach
Vincennes late this afternoon, about 2.5 feet below flood stage.
Dry weather through Wednesday will continue to allow area rivers to
recede. Flooding along the Wabash River is expected to end by late
Monday afternoon.

Issued at 231 AM EST Sun Nov 19 2017 Dry weather can be expected through the work week as high pressure dominates the weather for much of the period. A low pressure system will bring rain chances to parts of the area on Saturday. Temperatures will remain below normal through next weekend. && .NEAR TERM.../Rest of Today/ Issued at 1015 AM EST Sun Nov 19 2017 Satellite loop shows cloud deck over central Indiana extends back into central Illinois at 10 am. As a result, continued the trend of slowing the clearing and scattering of cloud cover into later in the afternoon. Otherwise going forecast is on track, and these sky cover changes were the only appreciable adjustment. Previous discussion follows... Early this morning, stratocumulus were across central Indiana. The clouds, albeit with a few large breaks, extended back into Wisconsin. These clouds will be the forecast issue today. As usual, many models are clearing out skies quickly, which is typical. However, the Hi Res Rapid Refresh and the short range ensembles show the clouds sticking around into at least early afternoon. Will trend toward these models and go mostly cloudy through the morning for most areas, then decreasing clouds during the afternoon. There will still be some wind gusts across the area today with the still relatively tight pressure gradient, but these should remain around 20kt. With the clouds and cold advection, temperatures will remain well below average and only in the 30s. The model blend reflects this well. && .SHORT TERM.../Tonight through Tuesday night/ Issued at 231 AM EST Sun Nov 19 2017 Models are close enough that the model blend initialization was accepted for most items. The short term will remain quiet. High pressure will remain in control through Monday. A cold front will move through on Tuesday, but moisture is lacking. Thus do not expect any precipitation with it. Tuesday will be breezy with wind gusts of 20-30 mph across the area as the cold front passes. The model blend looks good for temperatures given expected conditions. && .LONG TERM /Wednesday through Saturday Night/... Issued at 306 AM EST Sun Nov 19 2017 A large ridge of high pressure over the western two-thirds of the nation will result in dry conditions for most of the extended period. Temperatures will be below normal, but there will be a very weak warming trend throughout the period as winds back to the southwest.
