...The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Flood 
Warning for portions of the following river in west
central Indiana...

  Wabash River...


.Flooding has begun along the upper Wabash River at Lafayette,
Indiana, and the water level at Covington began showing a
noteworthy rise that started Saturday afternoon and which is expected
to continue through Sunday. The river level at Montezuma is
anticipated to begin rising later this evening and continue through
Sunday night. Crests at these locations are expected to be up to
5.5 feet above flood stage.

Rainfall up to nearly 3 inches fell over northern central Indiana
counties today.  Dry weather through the upcoming week will aid
recession of the water after the current surge moves through.

Flood water at its highest point may affect a few county roads and
top the Montezuma agricultural levee.  Lower agricultural land
likely will flood.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

.Heavy rainfall accompanying warm frontal passage earlier Saturday,
then cold frontal passage throughout Saturday afternoon, 
totaled up to between 2 and 3 inches at some locations across
northern central Indiana according to radar estimates. The heaviest
of this rainfall fell from eastern Warren County to Howard County,
and northern Fountain County to Hamilton County.

Remaining light rainfall in east central Indiana as of mid to late
Saturday evening should end by 2 AM Sunday, leaving behind dry
weather for the upcoming week.

Additional flood warnings may be needed Sunday, particularly along
the Wabash River.  Flooding has the potential to last until next
weekend.

  several places from the Wabash Bottoms, Janssen Tract to Warren CR 
  350 N in the Black Rock Preserve Area, a distance of nearly 1.5 
  miles. High water affects Fort Ouiatenon area. All parks in the 
  West Lafayette and Lafayette areas are flooded.  High water almost 
  on North River Road.

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in 
Indiana...

  East Fork White River...Mississinewa River...Wabash River...White 
  River...Wildcat Creek...


.Heavy rainfall Saturday of up to nearly 3 inches, as estimated
by radar, fell across northern central Indiana. The heaviest
of this rainfall fell from eastern Warren County to Howard County,
and northern Fountain County to Hamilton County.

Moderate flooding is expected for a short time in the Lafayette area
as the river level comes to a crest tonight. This will affect all
parks in Lafayette and West Lafayette, some state, county, and local
roads, river cabins, and many acres of agricultural land. Flooding of
this extent has not been seen in this area since mid-July.

Dry weather is in the forecast and will thus aid bringing an end
to the flooding. The crest along the Wabash River is expected to
reach Covington Monday night, Montezuma late Tuesday, and then Terre
Haute Wednesday night.

Flooding on the White River is expected to be much less extensive
due to not receiving as much rainfall, with crests no more than
about 1.5 feet above flood stage. The crest late Sunday afternoon
was near Muncie, and should reach Ravenswood Monday morning,
Elliston Thursday morning, and then Edwardsport Friday evening.

Flooding along central/southern Indiana area rivers may last into
early next week.  Additional flood warnings may be needed for this
event.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

as the river level comes to a crest very early Monday with a river
level 7.2 feet above crest. This will affect all parks in
Lafayette and West Lafayette, some state, county, and local roads,
river cabins, and many acres of agricultural land. Flooding of this
extent has not been seen in this area since mid-July.

Dry weather is in the forecast and will thus aid bringing an end
to the flooding. The crest along the Wabash River is expected to
reach Covington Tuesday morning, Montezuma Tuesday evening, and then
Terre Haute Wednesday night.

Flooding on the White River is expected to be much less extensive
due to not receiving as much rainfall, with crests no more than
about 2 feet above flood stage. The crest late Sunday
evening was in the vicinity of Noblesville, and should
reach Nora and Ravenswood late Monday morning, Spencer Wednesday
afternoon, and then Edwardsport Friday evening.

Flooding along central/southern Indiana area rivers may last into
early next week.  Additional flood warnings may be needed for this
event.

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in 
central and southern Indiana...

.Flooding warnings continued for the Wabash and White Rivers in
central and southern Indiana.  This is the first flood event for the
Wabash River since July.  High water along the White River was or
will be slightly higher than levels seen earlier in November.

Flooding is a result of 2 to nearly 4 inches of rain dumped by severe
storms on Saturday in central and northern Indiana along and north of
I-70.

As of early Monday afternoon...the White River was at or near crest
in the Indianapolis area.  The flood crest in the Spencer ...
Bloomfield and Edwardsport areas will arrive by Friday.  On the
Wabash River...the flood crest passed Lafayette early Monday
morning. The river will crest north of I-70 by Saturday and south of
I-70 by Tuesday...November 28.

Little or no rain is expected this week.  Dry weather will allow
creeks and rivers to recede rather quickly.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in 
Indiana...

  Wabash River...White River...

.Flooding warnings continue for the Wabash and White Rivers in
central and southern Indiana. This is the first flood event for the
Wabash River since July. High water along the White River was, or
will be, slightly higher than levels seen earlier in November.

Flooding is a result of 2 to nearly 4 inches of rain dumped by
thunderstorms on Saturday in central and northern Indiana along and
north of Interstate 70.

As of late Tuesday morning...the White River was at crest in the
Centerton area. The flood crest in the Spencer, Bloomfield, and
Edwardsport areas will arrive Wednesday night and Thursday. On the
Wabash River...the flood crest is approaching the Covington area and
is forecast to arrive in Terre Haute by Friday the 24th.

Little or no rain is expected this week.  Dry weather will allow
area creeks and rivers to recede rather quickly.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

.Flood warnings continue for the Wabash River in central Indiana.
Flooding is a result of 2 to nearly 4 inches of rain dumped by
thunderstorms on Saturday in central and northern Indiana along and
north of Interstate 70.

As of late Wednesday morning, the crest on the Wabash River was
approaching Montezuma and is forecast to arrive in the Terre Haute
area by Friday the 24th.

Little or no rain is expected this week.  Dry weather will allow
area creeks and rivers to recede rather quickly.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and

A cold front will move east of central Indiana late this afternoon
and an upper trough will sweep through in its wake this evening.
This will put an end to the showers and thunderstorms. However, it
will remain windy through early Sunday. Then, high pressure will
result in dry weather and below normal temperatures through next
Friday. Finally, a frontal system will bring another threat for
showers to the area by next Saturday.

.NEAR TERM /Late this afternoon and tonight/...
Issued at 226 PM EST Sat Nov 18 2017

The main concern for the near term will be the possibility for
severe storms early and then the wind as a strong cold front and
trailing upper trough move through from the west.

High Resolution Rapid Refresh reflectivity progs and radar trends
all support the convection ending from west to east before 06z
tonight. However, strong low pressure gradient in the wake of the
low will result in windy conditions through the night. Wind Advisory
through 1 am continues to look good with sustained winds to 30 mph
and gusts to 45 mph possible. Damaging thunderstorm winds will also
remain possible through 4 or 5 pm per the SPC Day1 Severe Weather
Outlook, mainly south of Interstate 70, east of Interstate 65 and
southeast of Interstate 69.

Could see some clearing toward daybreak, mainly southwest of
Lafayette, Indianapolis and Seymour. Finally, with strong cold
advection, it will be much colder tonight with subfreezing lows
likely per Superblend.

.SHORT TERM /Sunday through Tuesday/...

Very good model agreement that surface high pressure, over the
southern Plains, will move into the Tennessee Valley Sunday night
and Monday. That will bring dry weather to the area with moderating
temperatures by Monday. Then, a sharp upper trough will pivot across
the Great Lakes on Tuesday. However, model rh time sections suggest
the column will be too dry for any showers.

Temperatures to start off well below normal in post-frontal cold
advection pattern Sunday despite some sunshine. Blend highs in the
30s look good with good confidence. After that, with the high
pressure settling south, good confidence that temperatures will
rebound by Monday under plenty of sunshine.

.LONG TERM /Tuesday night through Saturday/...

Ensembles and deterministic models in very good agreement that high
pressure will and northwest flow aloft will provide dry and cold
weather through Thursday. Then, southerly flow and an approaching
cold front will result in moderating temperatures Friday and
Saturday with showery weather Saturday.

With such good model agreement will accept blend temperatures and
pops.

.AVIATION /Discussion for 190000z TAF issuance/...

Issued at 545 PM EST Sat Nov 18 2017

A cold front has passed through all the TAF sites and winds are
from 320 to 350 at 12 to 22 kts with gusts varying from only
around 20 kts to around 35 kts. These strong winds will continue
for the next few hours and then will start to slowly drop off, but
this will be a slow process. Soundings show potential for gusts of
20 to 25 kts to continue through the overnight hours and possibly
through the day Sunday. May see some slackening Sunday late
morning, and improvement will be more likely at southern sites of
KBMG and KHUF where the pressure gradient will lessen faster, but
may see gusts throughout Sunday of 20 to 25 kts at KIND and KLAF.

Ceilings currently generally low end MVFR around 1000 to 1500 ft,
with a couple of IFR spots, one of which is KLAF. Could see
flirting with IFR ceilings for an hour or two, but then should be
MVFR for the most part for several hours. Expect a slow
improvement to above 2000 ft, and then perhaps scattering out
between 12 and 18z from west to east. Low confidence in the timing
of scattering.

Area of rain showers/drizzle currently moving through the sites
should come to an end over the next few hours as it moves
southeast. Dry conditions should ensue after that.
