...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in 
 central and southern Indiana...

  Big Blue River...Clifty Creek...Driftwood River...East Fork White 
  River...Mississinewa River...Muscatatuck River...White River...
  Youngs Creek...


.Lowland flooding continued along portions of rivers and streams in
central and southern Indiana early Monday afternoon.  Small streams
in east central Indiana were approaching crest while rises continued
along the main rivers in southern Indiana.  This was the first
flooding since July in central and southern Indiana.

Two to five inches of rain fell across portions central and southern
Indiana on Sunday.  The highest amounts were in east central Indiana.
Little rainfall is expected through Saturday.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

  northern Bartholomew County on April 6, 2011. Double Y Saddle Club 
  area flooded.  At least 6 inches of water flowing over CR 950N to 
  Club. Water is less than one foot away from CR 330W just south of 
  its intersection with Ohio Ridge Rd. CR 500N west of CR 250W is 
  flooded blocking vehicular access to residences near the river 
  bank. Lowell Public Access site is open but ramp is totally 
  flooded. Water close to one residence at Shelby CR 1000S and CR 
  900W.

A weak weather disturbance is expected to move through the Ohio
Valley tonight and Tuesday. In the wake of this disturbance, high
pressure will move into the area for the middle and later parts of
the week. A frontal system may affect the area by the weekend.

.NEAR TERM /Rest of Today/...
Issued at 948 AM EST Mon Nov 6 2017

Some clearing has taken place across the northwestern forecast area.
Believe that some of this area will fill back in with cumulus
development later this morning, and satellite shows some clouds
trying to come south from Lake Michigan. Thus will allow skies to
return to mostly cloudy in the northwest. Elsewhere feel the clouds
will hang on so kept mostly cloudy there as well.

Raised highs a bit where the sun will be out longer this morning.

Previous discussion follows...

Last of the shower activity associated with the frontal zone has
just about exited the local area. Some light rain over the far
northeast zones appears to be tied to a mid level vorticity lobe
extending into northwest Ohio. This feature should move out of
those areas before sunrise. Will let the remainder of the Flash
Flood Watch expire on schedule at 060900Z.

Otherwise, fairly extensive low cloud deck upstream, although there
are some small areas of clearing over northeast Illinois. Last
evening's upper air indicates a strong inversion around 900mb, so
clearing trend should be slow. Some partial clearing expected later
this morning, but significant clearing probably won't take place
until later this afternoon, when models suggest inversion will start
to break up.

Given fairly strong cold advection and cloud cover today, expecting
only subtle temperature rises today, about 4-5 degrees below the GFS
MOS guidance.

.SHORT TERM /Tonight through Wednesday night/...

Models suggest fairly zonal flow across the area during this period.

Appears a weak surface wave will ripple along a frontal zone over
the Tennessee Valley late tonight into Tuesday, with the 850mb front
setting up over southern Indiana. As a result, will be putting PoPs
in the forecast mainly for late tonight and into Tuesday for all
zones except the far north, coinciding with the best forcing.
Highest PoPs will be over the south, closest to the elevated
frontal zone.

Will cut off the PoPs Tuesday night as the wave and forcing exits
the area. Some of the ensembles suggest another wave may move

this time it appears the precipitation threat with this next wave
will stay south of the area. Will go with a dry forecast after
Tuesday.

Progged low level thicknesses suggest the GFS MOS highs for Tuesday
and Wednesday are probably too warm. Will cut about 3-5 degrees off
of the guidance highs during those periods. The guidance lows look
OK.

.LONG TERM /Thursday through Sunday/...

Amplified upper level flow for late week will dominate across the
lower 48 with a western ridge and an eastern trough. The upper
trough is one of the deepest noted over eastern Canada so far this
fall and consequently expect chilly weather to accompany it for the
Ohio Valley and Great Lakes.

A surface front will pass through the region on Thursday but with
very little moisture...not expecting any precipitation with the
boundary. The biggest impact from the frontal passage will be a
reinforcing shot of cold air as a strong arctic high drifts across
the region. Highs are likely to get no warmer than the low to mid
40s on Friday and Saturday. Lows Thursday and Friday nights dropping
into the 20s will be common.

The upper flow will relax over the weekend as the trough kicks out
to the east. A quick moving wave aloft will track through the Great
Lakes this weekend and provide the only shot at precipitation
through the extended. Model guidance varies with respect to specific
timing of precipitation...but it does appear the best chance at
seeing impacts will come Saturday night into Sunday. Expect rain to
largely be the precipitation type with the weekend event...but
marginal Low level thermals Saturday night do suggest it is not out
of the question that a few snowflakes could mix in. Confidence is
not high enough at this point to include a snow mention...but this
will be something to monitor going forward. Highs will remain in the
40s through the weekend.

Although ceilings at KIND have come up above 2000ft, believe this is
temporary (ceilings upstream are lower). Thus kept ceilings below
2000ft this morning.

Previous discussion follows...

MVFR ceilings will linger through the morning with some improvement
this afternoon and evening.

Low stratus holding over much of the region early this morning
behind the cold front that moved through Sunday evening. Ceilings
have been hovering generally between about 1500 and 2500ft and that
is likely to continue through midday as moisture remains trapped
beneath an inversion.

Drier air will attempt to advect in from the north this afternoon
and while the inversion is likely to remain in a weakened
state...enough mixing should take place to enable ceilings to rise
into VFR levels with some breaks developing by mid afternoon.
Northerly winds at 10-15kts will continue through this evening.

A weak surface wave will track along the cold front over the
Tennessee Valley tonight...and will spread increasing amounts of
moisture north into the southern half of central Indiana overnight.
Rain and lower ceilings will expand north after midnight...impacting
KBMG and possibly KHUF and KIND as well during the predawn hours.
Northeast winds of 5-10kts expected tonight.

High pressure building across the Great Lakes today will bring dry
conditions. A weak weather disturbance is expected to move into the
Tennessee Valley late tonight, bringing the chances for showers to
parts of the area.

Outlook: Lowland flooding will continue through late this week along
rivers and streams in central and southern Indiana.

Discussion: A weak weather disturbance moving through the Tennessee
Valley on Tuesday will bring a threat for showers to parts of the
area at that time. Additional chances for showers are possible over
the upcoming weekend as a frontal system moves into the area.
