This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North and Central Georgia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight...

A few thunderstorms may become severe mainly this afternoon and
evening.

A frontal boundary will approach north Georgia today...giving
increased chances for showers and thunderstorms. Afternoon heating
will help to support a few strong to severe thunderstorms with
damaging wind gusts and large hail.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday...

A moist and unstable air mass will remain over north and central
Georgia through the period. There will be a chance of showers and
thunderstorms each day...a few storms possibly severe.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not requested but spotters are encouraged
to submit reports of severe weather through the web by going to
weather.gov/atlanta.

PIKE COUNTIES UNTIL 330 PM EDT...

At 304 PM EDT...a strong thunderstorm was near Hogansville, or 10
miles northeast of Lagrange...moving northeast at 45 mph.

  HAZARD...Winds 40 to 50 mph...pea sized hail...frequent lightning
           and heavy rain.

  IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
           light...unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause temporary
           street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.

Some locations in the path of this storm include
Newnan, Lagrange, Hamilton, Greenville, Hogansville, Grantville, Pine
Mountain, Woodbury, Luthersville, Warm Springs, Moreland, Molena,
Lone Oak, Gay, East Newnan, Corinth, F.d. Roosevelt State Park,
Mountville, Louise and Odessadale.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear
thunder...you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Motorists
should slow down and be prepared for possible loss of control due to
hydroplaning.
