* The river could rise to major flood stage if rainfall totals vary

* At  9:00 PM Saturday the stage was 12.1 feet. 
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Forecast...the river will fall to below flood stage by Sunday 
  morning.
* At 13.0 feet...Floodwaters impact East Sandusky Street, Main Cross 
  Street, Blanchard Road, Clinton Court, and many other streets near 
  the Blanchard River. Backwater will affect residents living along 
  Eagle and Lye Creeks.
* At 12.0 feet...Water impacts River Street and Apple Alley on the 
  west side of Findlay, Blanchard Street between Sandusky and Main 
  Cross, and several streets south of Clinton Court near Riverside 
  Park.
* At 11.0 feet...Flooding impacts areas near Riverside Park and East 
  Main Cross Street in the City of Findlay.
* At 10.0 feet...Water reaches East Main Cross Street near Lye Creek.

.SYNOPSIS...
Low pressure over the Mid-Mississippi Valley will slowly move to the
Ohio Valley by Friday, then continue to near Lake Ontario on
Saturday. A very moist airmass will overspread the area during this
time bringing a prolonged period of rain. Another upper level trough
will slide southeast out of Canada and merge with this system over
the Upper Great Lakes over the weekend.

&&

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/...
Low pressure is centered over western Tennessee late this
morning with a warm front extending east across Kentucky. North
of this front an inverted trough extends across central OH into
NW Pennsylvania. Regional radar imagery shows a broad area of
light to moderate rain lifting north of the low across most of
western OH with an eastward extending band of rain associated
with warm advection and along the nose of a low level jet. This
band of rain is lifting across northeast OH into western PA.
More scattered activity is located across SE OH.

A Flood Watch remains in effect for northwest Ohio through
Friday with fairly steady moderate rainfall. The widespread
rainfall is also associated with a deep plume of moisture seen
on water vapor imagery ahead of the advancing upper level
trough axis. Precipitable water values will increase to near
1.20 inches.

A nearly 15 degree spread in temperatures is expected this afternoon
as southeasterly flow behind the lifting warm front pushes
north towards the lake in central and eastern portions of the
area. Meanwhile a cool northeasterly flow will remain off Lake
Erie towards Toledo with steady rain keeping temperatures in the
upper 40s. This warm frontal boundary will serve as the focus
for the heaviest rain continuing into tonight.

.SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT/...
Not many changes as this event continue to unfold. Period of
heaviest rain is expected tonight as the upper level and surface low
curl northeast towards the Ohio Valley. Deep moisture will continue
to surge north ahead of the trough with forcing focused along the
low level frontal boundary draped across northwest Ohio. Many models
are indicating a period of enhanced rainfall occurring late tonight
into Friday morning as upper level jet dynamics are focused
overhead. This larger scale forcing will align with the low level
frontal boundary to lead to enhanced rainfall rates. Model QPF in
the watch area generally range from 2 to 3 inches with the
highest amounts focused towards Toledo. Rises on rivers are
expected and several are forecast to reach flood stage. Of
particular concern are the Maumee, Blanchard, and the Scioto
River at Larue. Exact flood stages will depend on how much rain
ends up falling but Moderate flooding is possible and may get
close to Major flooding if rainfall in the basin gets close to
2.75". Soil moisture is elevated and expect to see other low
lying and poor drainage areas also experience flooding.

On Friday we will need to expand our attention eastward as models
show some weak instability developing across eastern Ohio ahead of
the low. Several of the higher resolution models are trying to
develop some convection across central and northeast Ohio and
have added a chance of thunderstorms to the forecast. This
rainfall is expected to very efficient with slow storm motion.
It is possible that this activity remains just south of our
counties but will need to be monitored. Northeast Ohio has also
received several rounds of rain over the last week and the
flood watch may need to be expanded to eastern areas on Friday.
Rivers will see rises in the east and could also experience
flooding problems. Meanwhile the heaviest rain will begin to
taper off in northwest Ohio by Friday afternoon.

Upper level trough shifts just east of the area by Saturday morning
shifting the deep moisture axis into Pennsylvania. Models in
good agreement showing another wave sliding into the back side
of the trough on Saturday and enhancing showers across central
and eastern areas as the upper low retrogrades westward Thermal
profiles will support some enhancement off Lake Erie by
Saturday afternoon and night as lake to 850mb delta increases to
13C. We will have to keep an eye out for any bands that develop
which could contribute to additional flooding problems on
already saturated soils. Eastern areas can expect much cooler
temperatures by Saturday with cold advection, clouds, and
showers around. The boundary layer may even be cool enough over
inland northwest PA by Saturday night for precip to mix with
snow. Moisture finally exits to the east by Sunday afternoon
with showers tapering off. Patchy frost will be possible by
Sunday night with high pressure building in behind the departing
system.

.LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
Massive upper level low pressure system will move ever so slowly
east northeast during the extended periods and then split off into
two lows that may wind up pin wheeling around each other for some
time. This means a short dry period developing  on Monday followed
by more moisture advecting into the forecast area for the rest of
the extended forecast period.  There will wind up being an on and
off again chance for some rain.  850 MB temperatures drop to around
-6C by Monday morning before mid level warm air advection begins to
take place.  Temperatures in the east will be quite nippy with highs
on Monday only in the middle 40s.  Meanwhile, highs in the west will
be in the middle 50s Monday.  We should see a slow warmup through
the forecast period with highs climbing back into the middle to
upper 60s in the extreme south an lower to middle 50s north by
Thursday. Lows could be troublesome Tuesday morning with possible
freeze/frost issues...especially in the east.

.AVIATION /12Z Thursday THROUGH Monday/...
Rain has moved into the area this morning ahead of Low pressure
over the mid-Mississippi River Valley moving slowly northeast
over the next couple days. The storm system has started to
bring with it lowering ceilings and visibilities which KTOL
has already reached MVFR at 14z. These lower cigs will continue
during much of the TAF period with some IFR expected. The
heaviest rain is expected across western TAF sites of TOL and
FDY with MFD also included with will bring IFR. Lowest rainfall
is expected over the eastern half of Ohio and northwest
Pennsylvania were brief IFR or mainly MVFR is more likely.
Winds will gradually increase to between 15 and 25 knots from
the East Southeast.

OUTLOOK...Non-VFR likely through Saturday night.

.MARINE...
As low pressure moves northeast toward the area, northeast flow will
continue on the lake persisting into Friday. The winds will
gradually increase and become northerly by Friday night and
northwest by Saturday morning. Small craft advisories may be
needed later this afternoon in the west and over the rest of the
lake tonight and they will likely continue through Sunday.
Winds will finally diminish Sunday night from the northwest and
continue Monday.
