* At 1124 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rains associated 
  with Hurricane Irma moving inland across much of southern South 
  Carolina. The risk for flash flooding will continue to increase 
  through early afternoon as heavy rains combine with the incoming 
  elevated high tide. The combination of surge and heavy rain will 
  enhance the risk for flooding across coastal locations such as 
  Downtown Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Edisto Beach, Folly Beach, 
  Kaiwah Island and Isle of Palms. 

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Charleston, North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, Goose
  Creek, Hanahan, Edisto Beach and Middleton Place.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

inland associated with Hurricane Irma. Widespread flooding has been 
reported in some areas. The combination of extremely high tides 
combined with heavy rain has resulted in widespread, dangerous 
flooding throughout Downtown Charleston. Emergency Management 
officials are in the process closing portions of the Charleston 
peninusla. Areas from Calhoun Street south to the Battery is 
severely flooded. Travel into the Downtown Charleston area is not 
advised due to dangerous flooding conditions. 

This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Downtown Charleston. This is a 
PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Charleston, North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, Goose

* At 251 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated bands of heavy rain moving 
  inland associated with Hurricane Irma. Widespread flooding has 
  been reported in some areas. The combination of extremely high 
  tides combined with heavy rain has resulted in widespread, 
  dangerous flooding throughout Downtown Charleston. Much of the 
  Charleston peninsula remains closed and will remain so until 
  further notice. Areas from Calhoun Street south to the Battery as 
  well as the Hospital District are severely flooded. Travel into 
  the Downtown Charleston area is not advised due to dangerous 
  flooding conditions. Outside of Downtown Charleston, additional 
  flooding will occur across parts of Colleton, Berkeley an 
  Dorchester counties. Quick rises along Eagle Creek will continue. 
  Homes in this area may flood.

inland associated with Hurricane Irma. The heaviest band was 
impacting areas from North Charleston south through Downtown 
Charleston and extending into the Atlantic. This band will bring 
additional heavy rainfall and flooding across central Charleston 
County, including Downtown Charleston. 

Widespread flooding has been reported in some areas. The combination 
of extremely high tides combined with heavy rain has resulted in 
widespread, dangerous flooding in Downtown Charleston. Much of the 
Charleston peninsula remains closed and will remain so until further 
notice. Areas from Calhoun Street south to the Battery as well as 
the Hospital District are severely flooded. Travel into the Downtown 
Charleston area IS NOT ADVISED due to dangerous flooding conditions. 
Outside of Downtown Charleston, additional flooding will occur 
across parts of Colleton, Berkeley an Dorchester counties. Rises
