.UPDATE...Snowfall totals have ranged from 6 to 12 inches along
the outer coast south of Cross Sound and over the central and
southern panhandle south of line from Hoonah to Petersburg.
Guidance is consistent in lifting the frontal band and best
overrunning potential northward tonight and Wednesday. The upper
trough responsible for this snow will be reinforced more energy
currently digging across the Alaska Peninsula. This will sharpen
the trough and back the flow aloft more to the SW over the
northern and central Panhandle. By Wednesday morning, more
intense overunning and forcing for ascent appears to set up along
the Icy Strait corridor with heavier snowfall rates expected along
a Pelican to Hoonah to Juneau line.

Based on the latest satellite and model trends, elected to extend
the Winter Storm Warning for the central outer coast and central
inner channels including the Sitka and Petersburg/Wrangell areas
until early Wednesday. Extended the Winter Storm Warning for zone
22 including Pelican until midnight Wednesday night. Also issued a
Winter Storm Warning for zones 20, 21,and 25 for Wednesday and
Wednesday night.

Will allow the southern warnings to expire and issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for our Southeast Gulf coastal zone as onshore
flow will continue snow shower activity in this area with lighter
accumulations expected.
