Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL 341 AM EDT FRI AUG 12 2016 .SHORT TERM (Today-Saturday)... Ridging at all levels over the region in low level southeast steering flow pattern. Expect a similar forecast and rainfall pattern into Saturday. Mostly sunny and warm morning into early afternoon conditions prevail for the morning and early afternoon hours. Then expect diurnal bay and west coast sea breezes to initiate shower and thunderstorm activity mid afternoon then east coast seabreeze collision and outflow boundaries to enhance and drive the late afternoon into evening convection back towards coastal areas. Models suggest slightly drier conditions Saturday with Pops about 10-20% lower than Friday. Seasonally warm and humid daytime temperatures running from the lower to mid 90s while overnight temps remain within a few degrees of normal as well. .MID TERM/LONG TERM (Saturday Night-Thursday)... Overall forecast remains unchanged through early next week as deep layer ridging will remain centered over the Western Atlantic Ocean keeping an east to southeast flow across the region. Moisture amounts will vary from day to day, but will be enough to see scattered convection each afternoon and evening. By the middle of next week an inverted upper trough will be moving through the Bahamas and then near Florida on Thursday with the model solutions diverging on the exact position and strength. In general though the east to southeast low level flow will persist with possibly some additional moisture associated with the trough moving into the region leading to scattered to numerous diurnal convection for Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will remain near to a couple of degrees above normal with daytime highs ranging from near 90 along the coast to the lower and middle 90s inland, while overnight lows are mainly in the 70s. && .AVIATION... Evening rainfall and debris clouds early this morning may produce localized lower cigs and reduced vsbys until 12z, but generally VFR conditions expected through the afternoon hours. Another round of TSRA expected after 19Z-20Z today lasting until around 02Z Saturday with brief MVFR/IFR cigs/vsbys. && .MARINE... Bermuda high pressure will hold over the region through the weekend and into next week with persistent east to southeast winds. Winds are expected to increase with an easterly surge in the evening and overnight hours to bump seas a bit then daily afternoon seabreezes near the coast.
