  SECONDARY ROADS ARE FLOODED NEAR THE BAYOU.
* Impact...At stages near 20.6 feet...IT IS ESTIMATED THAT 30 
  STRUCTURES NEAR THE BAYOU WILL FLOOD WITH SEVERAL SECONDARY ROADS 
  FLOODED NEAR THE BAYOU.

* Impact...At stages near 15.0 feet...Flooding of secondary roads 
  near the river and its tributaries begins, including Ashmore Road. 
  Strothers Crossing Road near Calcasieu and Price Crossing Road near
  Hineston have several feet of water over them and subject to 
  washouts.
* Impact...At stages near 14.0 feet...Some roads upstream from 
  Glenmora, including Strothers Crossing Road near the community of 
  Calcasieu and Price Crossing Road near Hineston have two to three 
  feet of water over the road and are subject to being closed. 
  Flooding of forested areas near the river will also occur.
* Impact...At stages near 12.0 feet...When the river is falling and 
  the gauge reading is forecast to be near 12 feet, flooding of 
  forested areas near the river will occur.

  arthur area. Numerous roads are inundated across a large area 
  including u.S. 90, la 3166, la 1126, and la 92.
* Impact...At stages near 9.0 feet...Some residential flooding in 
  and around mermentau will occur. U.S. 90 west of mermentau is 
  closed. Operations at the shipyards are affected. Roads in the 
  mermentau cove area are flooded and impassable. Some residences are
  subject to flooding along the river near lake arthur.
* Impact...At stages near 8.5 feet...Some residential flooding in 
  mermentau will occur. Operations at leevac shipyard can be 
  affected. U.S. Highway 90 west of mermentau is flooded and subject 
  to being closed.
* Impact...At stages near 7.5 feet...Water is on the roadway of the 
  Field Road bridge in the southeast part of mermentau.
* Impact...At stages near 6.2 feet...The water reaches the roadway 
  of the 13th Street bridge in the southern portion of mermentau.

  and roads flooded. The community of Morse will be inundated with 
  water. Much of Estherwood will be inundated due to backwater 
  flooding from Bayou Plaquemine. Areas around Gueydan will be 
  inundated with water due to backwater flooding from Bayou Que de 
  Tortue. Communities of Klondike and Lowery will experience flooding
  as well. 
* Impact...At stages near 9.5 feet...Widespread major flooding will 
  occur with residential flooding in and around mermentau to the lake
  arthur area. Numerous roads are inundated across a large area 
  including u.S. 90, la 3166, la 1126, and la 92.
* Impact...At stages near 9.0 feet...Some residential flooding in 
  and around mermentau will occur. U.S. 90 west of mermentau is 
  closed. Operations at the shipyards are affected. Roads in the 
  mermentau cove area are flooded and impassable. Some residences are
  subject to flooding along the river near lake arthur.
* Impact...At stages near 8.5 feet...Some residential flooding in 
  mermentau will occur. Operations at leevac shipyard can be 
  affected. U.S. Highway 90 west of mermentau is flooded and subject 
  to being closed.
* Impact...At stages near 7.5 feet...Water is on the roadway of the 
  Field Road bridge in the southeast part of mermentau.
* Impact...At stages near 6.2 feet...The water reaches the roadway 
  of the 13th Street bridge in the southern portion of mermentau.
* Impact...At stages near 6.0 feet...Flooding of the shipyard

  arthur area. Numerous roads are inundated across a large area 
  including u.S. 90, la 3166, la 1126, and la 92.

  and around mermentau will occur. U.S. 90 west of mermentau is 
  closed. Operations at the shipyards are affected. Roads in the 
  mermentau cove area are flooded and impassable. Some residences are
  subject to flooding along the river near lake arthur.
* Impact...At stages near 8.5 feet...Some residential flooding in 
  mermentau will occur. Operations at leevac shipyard can be 
  affected. U.S. Highway 90 west of mermentau is flooded and subject 
  to being closed.

  Field Road bridge in the southeast part of mermentau.

A very moist air mass and instability from daytime heating has
initiated another round of scattered showers and a few
thunderstorms. For the remainder of the evening there will be a
chance of seeing this convection at the KAEX/KBPT/KLCH sites with
brief MVFR/IFR conditions. Activity seems to be diurnally driven
and consensus of short term guidance is to have activity diminish
by 17/04Z, and will go with this scenario for the TAF package.
After 17/04Z, mainly VFR conditions expected for the remainder of
the night.

Short Term...Tonight and Tomorrow...
MRMS regional reflectivity shows showers ongoing across the CWA
with a line of embedded stronger extending from roughly Sabine
Pass to Marksville moving northward. SPC mesoanalysis shows PW
values remain above 2.1 inches, which corresponds to the 90th
percentile for August, across all of our CWA. Despite abundant
moisture across the whole area, afternoon model guidance indicates
the highest POPs this evening across SE Texas. Additionally,
guidance shows a relative minimum in convective activity across
Acadiana which should minimize the threat for additional localized
flooding tonight.

The axis of highest PW values will continue to shift westward
tomorrow. Highest QPF values will continue to be across SE Texas,
but the entire CWA will remain in chance to likely categorical POPs.

Long Term...Thursday through Tuesday...
Overall, mainly minor adjustments were made to the previous long
term forecast package. An upper level ridge will continue to build
into the northern Gulf through the second half of the week and
into the weekend. This will result in the tongue of tropical
moisture finally exiting the region. Ensemble guidance shows PW
values finally return to near the climatological average of 1.5 to
2.0 inches by the weekend and remaining through next week.
Therefore, kept POPs limited to a chance and Superblend
temperatures for the long term period.

MARINE...
THE NORTHERN GULF OF MEXICO WILL REMAIN BETWEEN SURFACE HIGH
PRESSURE RIDGING WESTWARD AND WEAKENING LOW PRESSURE THAT WILL BE
LIFTING OFF TO THE NORTHEAST. THIS PATTERN WILL RESULT IN LOW TO
MODERATE ONSHORE FLOW AND SLIGHTLY ELEVATED SEAS. SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS WILL REMAIN ELEVATED THROUGH THE FIVE DAY FORECAST.
