Center of upper level low will drift to the south from eastern parts of South Central Texas to the lower Texas coast on Sunday. SHRA/TSRA closer to the center early this morning will spread out from the low late morning into afternoon, and then focus closer to the center tonight. Have VCSH for the TAF sites late morning through early evening. Areas of LIFR/IFR/MVFR CIGs and IFR/MVFR vsbys early this morning will lift to VFR by afternoon. IFR/MVFr CIGs redevelop overnight and linger into Sunday morning. NELY winds 3 to 7 KTS increase to 6 to 11 KTS late morning through early evening, then decrease to 7 kts or less overnight. && .PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 320 AM CDT SAT JUN 4 2016/ SHORT TERM (Today through Sunday)... The upper level low was centered between San Antonio and Austin early this morning. At the surface a low as located across the Brush Country with trough near the Mid and Upper Texas Coast. Deeper convection through the morning hours will be located closer to the latter features, which will be moving east. During the afternoon, scattered showers and storms are expected to develop through the Hill Country, I-35 corridor, and eastward...on the back side of the upper level low which is moving south-southeast. The showers and storms may linger through the evening hours across the area. Out of an abundance of caution, and with the low 1 hr Flash Flood Guidance over the region, we have elected to maintain the Flash Flood Watch for central and eastern areas through 7 PM this evening. A quick 1-2 inches will be possible under the heavier storms today, with isolated pockets up to 3 inches. This could still result in some localized flooding issues. By Sunday the center of the mid and upper level low will be located across Deep South Texas with an inverted trough extending up through the Coastal Bend and Coastal Plains. The moisture axis will be located across this region with a tight gradient northwest into much drier air along and west of the I-35 corridor. So isolated to scattered daytime showers and storms will be primarily located across the southeast counties Sunday. LONG TERM (Sunday Night through Friday)... The upper level low opens and with an inverted trough residing near the Texas coast Monday. Moisture continues to gradually decrease through the early part of the week, with coverage of showers and storms across the far southeast counties decreasing to only isolated Monday and Tuesday. A warming trend on the high temperatures will take place Sunday through the middle part of the week.
