.DISCUSSION...
Models in decent agreement through 60 hours. Cold upper level low
moving east from near Wrangel Island to just east of Barrow by
Friday morning and then it will continue to Banks Island by late
Sat night.

Upper level trough over the West Coast will move east Will being
energized with an additional moisture feed from a low in the
Western Bering Sea which is setting up zonal flow to Northern
Alaska.

Upper level ridge building over the North Pacific south of the
Aleutians will continue to force the moisture stream through a
west to east direction over Northern Alaska through Sat night.

As cold front approaches from the west from Far East Russia late
this afternoon it will be pushed north as the large low moves east
to the Central Aleutians by early Sat morning. Ahead of the front
the winds will spike up over the Saint Lawrence Island area.

Significantly warmer temperatures aloft will be ushered in to the
Central Interior by late Sat morning. Given the cloudy skies that
will be likely around, it should be noted that the
surface temperatures will rise significantly as well.

By end of the mid range there are signs that a huge area of very
cold air could drop south over Northwestern Alaska and
significantly impact the coastal temperatures there.
