TEMPERATURES WILL STAY BELOW FREEZING TODAY...MAINTAINING SNOW AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS ON UNTREATED ROADS AND TREES. HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED IN THESE AREAS WHERE SNOW AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS REMAIN ON ROADS. WINDS WILL INCREASE THIS AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE TONIGHT. THIS WILL CAUSE WIND CHILLS TO DROP BELOW ZERO TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING. ALSO TREES THAT HAVE ICE ACCUMULATIONS MAY BE WEAKENED AND FALL CAUSING MORE POWER OUTAGES. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE THIS MORNING THROUGH TONIGHT...MAINLY HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF EAST TENNESSEE AND IN SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA. AROUND 2 TO 5 INCHES OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS. UP TO ABOUT AN INCH OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE IN THE NORTHERN CUMBERLAND PLATEAU AND NORTHERN AND CENTRAL PORTIONS OF THE TENNESSEE VALLEY. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THE PLATEAU AND VALLEY FROM 7 AM TO 7 PM EST WEDNESDAY.
