woodlands and fields along the creek from near Cumming in south
Forsyth County to Alpharetta and Roswell in north Fulton County.
Additional portions of The Big Creek Greenway have minor flooding
with 1 to 2 feet of water. Most of the walking and biking paths
will be closed...especially upstream and downstream from the gage
on Kimball Bridge Road and near Rock Hill Park. Portions of the

and fields begin along the creek between Cumming in Forsyth

Flooding starts to effect portions of The Big Creek Greenway near
Alpharetta and some portions may become closed with around one foot
of water...especially upstream and downstream from the gage on

Luther King Boulevard bridge. The flood waters will be around one
foot deep on portions of the trail and both banks overflow upstream
from the bridge. Large portions of agricultural lands well
downstream will be under one to three feet of water.

DISCUSSION... A COLD FRONT ACROSS CENTRAL GEORGIA WILL CONTINUE TO DRIFT SOUTHWARD THROUGH TONIGHT. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE ALONG AND AHEAD OF THE FRONT THROUGH THE AFTERNOON... MAINLY ALONG AND SOUTH OF A HAMILTON TO WARRENTON LINE. NO SEVERE STORMS ARE EXPECTED AS INSTABILITIES REMAIN MARGINAL OR LESS. AN ACTIVE WESTERLY FLOW ALOFT WILL CONTINUE TO PRODUCE AREAS OF LIGHT TO OCCASIONAL MODERATE RAIN SHOWERS BEHIND THE FRONT. HOWEVER... RAINFALL AMOUNTS THROUGH THIS EVENING SHOULD BE UNDER ONE HALF INCH ACROSS NORTH GEORGIA AND GENERALLY AN INCH OR LESS ACROSS CENTRAL GEORGIA THROUGH TONIGHT. WEATHER HAZARDS OCCASIONAL LIGHTNING STRIKES AND BRIEF GUSTY WINDS WITH ANY THUNDERSTORM THAT DEVELOPS. ANY TRAINING OF RAIN SHOWERS OVER ALREADY SATURATED GROUNDS COULD PRODUCE LOCALIZED MINOR FLOODING ALONG LOW LYING... FLOOD PRONE AREAS... TO INCLUDE SOME CREEKS AND RIVERS. FALLING LEAVES COULD BLOCK DRAINS AND CAUSE TEMPORARY STREET FLOODING. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY... GULF MOISTURE WILL OVER-RUN A WEDGE OF SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE TO PRODUCE RAIN SHOWERS ACROSS PARTS OF NORTH AND MUCH OF CENTRAL GEORGIA THROUGH MONDAY.
