ISSUED AT 337 PM CST FRI DEC 25 2015 THE OVERALL PATTERN REMAINS RELATIVELY UNCHANGED FOR TONIGHT WITH A DEEP TROUGH OUT WEST KEEPING A SOUTHWESTERLY UPPER LEVEL FLOW ACROSS IOWA AND SEVERAL SHORTWAVES EJECTING OUT OF THE BASE OF THE TROUGH ACROSS IOWA. ONE SUCH WAVE IS CURRENTLY MOVING NORTHEAST ACROSS NEBRASKA AND WILL IMPACT IOWA LATER THIS EVENING THROUGH TONIGHT AND SATURDAY MORNING. SOUNDINGS CURRENTLY SHOWING SOME DRIER AIR ALOFT AND THINGS ARE TAKING SOME TIME TO COMPLETELY SATURATE...ALTHOUGH LOW LEVELS HAVE BEEN THERE ALL DAY. THE GFS HAS BEEN TRENDING CLOSER TO THE EURO WITH REGARD TO THE TRACK. THIS LENDS SOME CREDENCE TO THE STORM WITH BOTH LIFTING THE STORM NORTH AS IT OCCLUDES...THOUGH THE GFS IS STILL FARTHER SOUTHEAST THAN THE EURO. THERE WILL BE THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME THUNDER WITH THE SYSTEM BUT AT THIS TIME IT IS DIFFICULT TO POINT TO THE AREA OF BETTER INSTABILITY.
