...The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Flood
Warning for portions of the following rivers in central and southern
Indiana...
White River...Wabash River...
.Lowland flooding will quickly return to portions of the Wabash and
White River in central and southern Indiana following rains of 1 to
nearly 3 inches in much of east central Illinois and central
Indiana. Flood crests will be similar to levels seen within the
last week.
The White River in the Petersburg and Hazleton areas will fall below
flood stage by Friday with flooding returning again during the
Memorial Day weekend. Near flood stage conditions will persist
along the lower Wabash River through much of next week.
High water will affect local roads...agricultural fields and
recreational areas that were previously flooded.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.
