A LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE INTO THE NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS THIS MORNING. THE LINE WILL THEN SLOWLY MOVE EASTWARD... ACROSS THE REST OF THE WESTERN CAROLINAS AND NORTHEAST GEORGIA OVER THE COURSE OF THE DAY. OTHER THUNDERSTORMS MAY DEVELOP AHEAD OF THE LINE AS WELL. THE COMBINATION OF STRONG WIND SHEAR AND MODERATE INSTABILITY WILL RESULT IN AN ENVIRONMENT FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS. THE MAIN THREAT FROM SEVERE STORMS WILL BE DAMAGING STRAIGHT LINE WINDS OF 58 MPH OR GREATER... AND QUARTER SIZED HAIL. HOWEVER... THERE WILL ALSO BE A THREAT FOR ISOLATED TORNADOES...
