NORTHEAST WINDS THROUGHOUT THE AREA. INCREASE IN MOISTURE AND SOME
ADDITIONAL LIFT ALONG THE MOUNTAINS WILL INCREASE THE AMOUNTS OF
CLOUDINESS THROUGH SUNDAY. THIS WILL COOL TEMPERATURES INTO THE
80S/90S FOR THE REST OF THE WEEKEND. CONVECTION SEEMS TO FOCUS
ALONG A WEAK BOUNDARY IN CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA WITH JUST
SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS THROUGHOUT CWA.

A FLAT UPPER RIDGE OVER THE SOUTHEAST RETROGRADES INTO THE
SOUTHERN PLAINS LATE MONDAY INTO TUESDAY AS AN UPPER TROUGH
AMPLIFIES ALONG THE EAST COAST. MOISTURE ASSOCIATED WITH THE
REMNANTS OF THE STATIONARY FRONT REMAINS BANKED UP AGAINST THE
MOUNTAINS MONDAY...WHILE ANOTHER COLD FRONT CROSSES THE OHIO RIVER
VALLEY. CAPE OF GREATER THAN 2000 J/KG IS SHOWS BY THE GFS ALONG
THIS BOUNDARY IN THE CHARLOTTE AREA SUNDAY EVENING...SUPPORTING
EVENING CONVECTION. A LEE TROUGH SHOULD SERVE AS THE FOCUS FOR
CONVECTION MONDAY...THOUGH THE GFS SHOWS THE BEST INSTABILITY WELL
TO THE EAST OF INTERSTATE 77. THE COLD FRONT REACHES THE NORTHERN
PORTION OF THE AREA LATE MONDAY NIGHT...AND CROSSES THE AREA FROM
NORTH TO SOUTH ON TUESDAY. CAPE ACCOMPANYING THE BOUNDARY WILL
APPROACH 2000 J/KG AGAIN TUESDAY AFTERNOON...WITH EVEN GREATER
VALUES TO THE EAST. MAXIMUMS TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO RISE
SLIGHTLY BOTH MON MONDAY AND TUESDAY AS WEAK WARM ADVECTION SETS
