THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIDLAND HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  MIDLAND COUNTY IN WEST TEXAS

* UNTIL 100 PM CDT

* AT 1000 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED
  TO DETECT SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE SOUTHERN HALF OF
  MIDLAND COUNTY...AS WELL AS ADDITIONAL REDEVELOPMENT OF SHOWERS
  AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE PERMIAN BASIN.
  MOVEMENT OF THESE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WAS EAST AT 15 MPH.

THE COMBINATION OF WATER RUNOFF FROM PREVIOUS THUNDERSTORMS...ALONG 
WITH ONGOING AND ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY WILL LEAD TO A 
CONTINUED THREAT OF FLOODING INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS ACROSS 
MIDLAND COUNTY AND THE CITY OF MIDLAND.

MOST FLOODING DEATHS ARE PREVENTABLE...AND MANY OCCUR WHEN MOTORISTS
DRIVE ACROSS FLOODED ROADWAYS. IT IS NEVER SAFE TO DRIVE ON FLOODED
ROADS. ONLY A FEW INCHES OF RAPIDLY FLOWING WATER CAN QUICKLY CARRY
AWAY YOUR VEHICLE. TURN AROUND... DONT DROWN.
