AREAS AFFECTED...DEEP S TX

CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL

VALID 140313Z - 140445Z

TSTMS HAVE BEEN APPROACHING THE RIO GRANDE VLY ABOUT 70 MILES S OF
KLRD THIS EVENING...AS COLD POOLS BECOME ESTABLISHED FROM MEXICAN
CONVECTION. EVENING KBRO SOUNDING SHOWED CONSIDERABLE POTENTIAL
INSTABILITY...WITH MUCAPES OF 3800 J/KG AND WLY DEEP LAYER SHEAR OF
AROUND 40 KTS. AS THE LOW LEVEL FLOW DECOUPLES...ADDITIONAL TSTMS
SHOULD DEVELOP EWD INTO DEEP SOUTH TX WITH CONVECTION LIKELY
REMAINING ORGANIZED...PARTICULARLY WEST OF MCALLEN. VERY STEEP
LAPSE RATES AND RICH BOUNDARY LAYER MOISTURE WILL CONTRIBUTE TO
LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WIND THREATS...AND A WW MAY BE REQUIRED
SHORTLY.
