* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  VILLAGE CREEK IN JEFFERSON COUNTY


* UNTIL 5 PM CDT

* AT 1140 AM CDT HEAVY RAINFALL OVER THE VILLAGE CREEK BASIN 
WAS PRODUCING RISES ON THE CREEK. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL DURING
THE NEXT FEW HOURS WILL CAUSE THE CREEK TO CONTINUE TO RISE
TO ABOVE FLOOD STAGE...AND A FLASH FLOOD WARNING IS IN EFFECT. 

FOR VILLAGE CREEK AT AVENUE W... 
NO FLOODING IS CURRENTLY OCCURRING. 
  MINOR FLOODING IS FORECAST. 
 
LATEST STAGE...WAS 8.1 FEET AT 1150 AM THURSDAY. 
FLOOD STAGE...IS 10 FEET. 
 
THE FORECAST...FOR VILLAGE CREEK AT AVENUE W...
THE CREEK WILL RISE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE EARLY THIS AFTERNOON.
IT WILL CREST AT 11 TO 12 FEET AROUND 3 PM THURSDAY.
IT WILL FALL BELOW FLOOD STAGE AROUND 5 PM THURSDAY.
 
AT 12 FEET AVENUE W AND OTHER LOCAL STREETS IN THE 
AREA BECOME IMPASSABLE.  

* TURN AROUND DONT DROWN.  DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS 
WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO
