000 WGUS55 KSLC 240350 FFWSLC UTC053-240800- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SALT LAKE CITY UT 950 PM MDT SAT AUG 23 2003 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SALT LAKE CITY HAS ISSUED A * FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR... SOUTH CENTRAL WASHINGTON COUNTY IN UTAH THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF ST GEORGE * UNTIL 200 AM MDT SUNDAY MORNING THIS FLASH FLOOD WARNING IS FOR THE FORT PIERCE WASH AND INCLUDES PORTIONS OF ST. GEORGE. HEAVY RAIN HAS FALLEN THIS AFTERNOON OVER MUCH OF THE FORT PIERCE WASH DRAINAGE IN ARIZONA AND IS CONTINUING OVER PORTIONS OF THE AREA AS OF 945 PM. IT IS ESTIMATED THAT THE FIRST SIGNIFICANT RISES ON THE WASH IN THE ST. GEORGE AREA WILL OCCUR BETWEEN ABOUT 1000 PM AND MIDNIGHT. THE HIGH FLOWS WILL CONTINUE FOR AT LEAST SEVERAL HOURS. ANYONE WHOSE HOMES OR BUSINESSES ARE THREATENED BY FLOODING ON THE FORT PIERCE WASH SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION TO PROTECT THEIR PROPERTY. WATER LEVELS WITH THIS EVENT COULD BE AS BAD OR WORSE THAN LAST NIGHTS FLOODING.
