THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SALT LAKE CITY HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTH CENTRAL GARFIELD COUNTY IN UTAH
  CENTRAL WAYNE COUNTY IN UTAH
  THIS INCLUDES CAPITOL REEF NATIONAL PARK...CAINEVILLE

* UNTIL 700 PM MDT

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM REPEATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THIS AREA WILL CAUSE 
FLASH FLOODING OF CREEKS AND STREAMS...ROADS AND ROADSIDE 
CULVERTS...ESPECIALLY SULFUR CREEK...OAK CREEK...PLEASANT 
CREEK...DEEP CREEK...AND CAINEVILLE CREEK ALL OF WHICH FLOW INTO THE 
FREMONT RIVER. 

STATE ROUTE 24 HAS BEEN CLOSED FROM CAINEVILLE TO CAPITOL REEF AND 
ADDITIONAL RAIN IN THESE CREEKS AND FREMONT RIVER WILL LIKELY CAUSE 
ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS.

THE HEAVY RAINS COULD ALSO TRIGGER ROCK AND MUDSLIDES IN STEEP 
TERRAIN.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNING AREA MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY.
RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG STREAMS AND CREEKS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE
PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS
SWIFTLY FLOWING WATERS OR WATERS OF UNKNOWN DEPTH BY FOOT OR BY
AUTOMOBILE. IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS, ABANDON IT IMMEDIATELY AND SEEK
HIGHER GROUND.
