MAIN UPDATE ISSUE IS THE CHC OF RAIN TODAY ACROSS THE AREA AND
THREAT FOR SVR TSTMS. BASED ON CURRENT TRENDS AND 12Z AREA
SOUNDINGS WILL NUDGE POPS UPWARD TODAY. EXPECT SCT ACTIVITY
AREAWIDE AS A MOIST AND UNSTABLE AIRMASS IS IN PLACE. 12Z LCH
SOUNDING HAS UNDERGONE SOME SIGNIFICANT MODIFICATION AS THE CAP HAS
ERODED DUE TO SOME MID-LEVEL COOLING AND WITH THE LOW-LEVEL MOIST
DEPTH INCREASING. BELIEVE THIS SOUNDING IS THE MOST REPRESENTATIVE
OF OUR AREA. ACARS IAH SOUNDING IS SIMILAR. MID-LEVEL SHORT WAVE

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

THE SLIGHT RISK AREA HAS BEEN EXPANDED TO INCLUDE ALL OF SOUTHEAST
TEXAS. AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL COMBINE WITH DEEP MOISTURE AND
A STRONGLY UNSTABLE AIRMASS TO PRODUCE SCATTERED SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. A FEW OF THE STORMS COULD
BECOME SEVERE. THE PRIMARY SEVERE WEATHER THREATS WILL BE LARGE HAIL
AND DAMAGING WINDS.
