VERY ACTIVE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING WITH NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORM
WARNINGS ISSUED BY THIS OFFICE. MOST OF THE SEVERE WEATHER WAS DUE
TO DOWNBURST WINDS WITH SOME REPORTS OF DIME TO QUARTER-SIZED HAIL.
THERE ARE STILL POCKETS OF INSTABILITY AS OF 0130Z...MAINLY OVER OUR
GEORGIA AND BIG BEND ZONES. LOCAL RADARS SHOW WIDESPREAD LIGHT TO
MODERATE RAIN WITH EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS OVER SOUTHEAST ALABAMA AND
THE PANHANDLE. MOVEMENT IS TO THE SOUTHEAST AND WILL BE SPREADING
ACROSS SOUTHWEST GEORGIA AND THE WESTERN BIG BEND. THUNDERSTORMS
WERE ENHANCED BY SHORTWAVE TROUGH THAT CURRENTLY EXTENDS THROUGH THE
CAROLINAS AND INTO NORTH FLORIDA. ALSO...01Z RUC SHOWS A WEAK VORT
MAX OVER CENTRAL ALABAMA THAT WILL ROUND THE BASE OF THE TROUGH
OVERNIGHT. AS A RESULT...MAY NEED TO KEEP A SMALL POP IN THE ZONES
...AT LEAST IN THE EASTERN HALF OF THE CWA.
