SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

   NORTHERN PARTS OF WEST TEXAS                              

EFFECTIVE THIS TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY MORNING FROM 730 PM
UNTIL 100 AM CDT.

HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 75 STATUTE MILES
NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 80 MILES WEST NORTHWEST OF PLAINVIEW
TEXAS TO 45 MILES SOUTH SOUTHEAST OF CHILDRESS TEXAS.

INSTABILITY AND FAVORABLE VERTICAL SHEAR PROFILES WILL CONTINUE TO
PROMOTE SUPERCELL STORMS.  THIS ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO MAINTAIN A
RISK OF LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS FOR A FEW MORE HOURS.
