THIS EVENING. A MODERATE WESTERLY FLOW ALOFT FOLLOWING THE TROUGH
WILL BRING A COUPLE OF WEAK WEATHER DISTURBANCES ACROSS MAINLY THE
NORTHERN PORTION OF UTAH MIDWEEK.

.DISCUSSION...TIGHT UPPER LOW OVER NV WITH ASSOCIATED COLD POCKET AT
500 MB WILL TRACK DIRECTLY ACROSS NORTHERN UT TODAY. WIDESPREAD
THUNDERSTORMS ALREADY GOING IN NV. 12Z RUC SHOWS MORE THAN ADEQUATE
SHEAR FOR SUPERCELLS/SQUALL LINES THIS AFTERNOON AND LIS AS LOW AS
MINUS 7-8 THIS AFTERNOON. 700 MB RAOB WIND AT DESERT ROCK WAS 50
KNOTS AND A GUST TO 66 MPH ALREADY REPORTED FROM A RAWS STATION IN
NV. ALL ADDS UP TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY THIS AFTERNOON WITH
HIGH WINDS BEING THE BIGGEST THREAT ALTHOUGH SOME LARGE HAIL ALSO A
POSSIBILITY.
