WAKE COUNTY IN CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA DURHAM COUNTY IN CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA GRANVILLE COUNTY IN CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA * UNTIL 800 PM EDT * WHILE THE PERSISTENT HEAVY RAIN HAS ENDED ACROSS MUCH THE NORTHEAST PIEDMONT...CREEKS AND STREAMS ARE STILL RISING OR OUT OF THEIR BANKS. CRABTREE CREEK IN RALEIGH WAS OUT OF ITS BANKS IN SEVERAL PLACES...AND WAS EITHER HOLDING STEADY OR SLOWLY RISING. SEVERAL CREEKS IN WAKE COUNTY WERE STILL QUITE HIGH INCLUDING SWIFT CREEK...MIDDLE CREEK AND WALNUT CREEK. IN DURHAM COUNTY...CREEKS AND STREAMS WERE AT BANKFULL OR OUT OF THEIR BANKS...ESPECIALLY IN THE EAST AND SOUTH SECTIONS OF THE COUNTY. STREET FLOODING WAS STILL A PROBLEM IN SPOTS IN DURHAM. IN GRANVILLE COUNTY...LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL REPORT NUMEROUS ROADS ARE STILL CLOSED DUE TO HIGH WATER. IT WILL TAKE A FEW MORE HOURS FOR THE WATER LEVELS TO DROP. THUS THE FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS HAVE BEEN EXTENDED FOR A COUPLE MORE HOURS. * ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND. $$ 12
