THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND FORKS HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...

  NELSON COUNTY IN NORTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA.

* UNTIL 215 PM CDT.

* AT 810 AM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED   
THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN CONTINUE TO MOVE EASTWARD ACROSS
THE NORTHERN PORTION OF NELSON COUNTY...MOVEMENT WAS TO THE EAST AT 
35 MPH.

* MCVILLE...LAKOTA...WHITMAN...PETERSBURG AND PEKIN WILL BE AFFECTED 
BY THE HEAVY RAIN. DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATES OF 2 TO 3 INCHES HAVE 
OCCURRED SINCE 530 AM. DUE TO SATURATED GROUND WITH EARLIER 
RAINS...RAPID RISES IN RIVER LEVELS CAN BE EXPECTED ACROSS NORTHERN
NELSON COUNTY. PERSONS LIVING NEAR RIVERS IN THIS AREA SHOULD 
CLOSELY MONITOR THE SITUATION. 

MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR
VEHICLE INTO WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH. ONE OR TWO FEET OF WATER WILL
FLOAT MOST CARS DOWNSTREAM.
