NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX
545 AM CDT MON SEP 9 2002

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
  FRIO

* UNTIL 845 AM CDT

* AT 540 AM...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED NEAR 
CONTINUOUS RAIN OVER FRIO COUNTY SIONCE MIDNIGHT.  DOPPLER RADAR HAS 
ESTIMATED  A COUNTY WIDE AVERAGE RAINFALL OF 2 TO 4 INCHES WITH A 
POSSIBLE TOTAL UP TO 10 INCHES BETWEEN DILLEY AND PEARSALL. ALL 
RAINS AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE TO MOVE INTO THE COUNTY FROM THE 
SOUTHEAST AT 10 MPH. 

THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION.  TRAVEL IS DISCOURAGED. RUNOFF FROM 
THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING. 

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE 
ROADWAY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED 
QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
