EASTERN OKLAHOMA/NORTHWEST ARKANSAS FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TULSA OK 405 AM CDT SAT JUN 30 2001 BIG DECISIONS THIS MORNING ARE IN THE NEAR TERM AND DECIDING WHAT TO DO WITH THE CURRENT WATCHES. RADAR SHOWS STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS OVER SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA WITH SOME SPECKLED LIGHTER STUFF OVER NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA. THINK HEAVY RAIN THREAT WILL COME TO AN END SHORTLY AFTER ZONE ISSUANCE TIME SO WILL CANCEL THE FLASH FLOOD WATCHES AT ZONE ISSUANCE TIME. WILL MAKE A LAST MINUTE DECISION ON THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH BUT AT THIS TIME THINK WILL CANCEL IT FOR ALL BUT SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA. PESKY UPPER LOW STILL OVER SOUTHERN MISSOURI IS PROGGED TO DROP SOUTH SOUTHWEST AND ELONGATE WHICH WILL EFFECTIVELY SHEAR IT OUT. NOT REAL CONFIDANT IN MODEL SOLUTIONS SO WILL KEEP AT LEAST SLIGHT CHANCE POPS TONIGHT AND SUNDAY EVERWHERE. DO FEEL BEST CHANCES OF RAIN AFTER THIS MORNING WILL BE IN SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND WEST CENTRAL ARKANSAS AND THEN IN FAR SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA SUNDAY NIGHT.
