TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

   WESTERN AND CENTRAL KENTUCKY                           

EFFECTIVE THIS MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY MORNING FROM 1130 PM UNTIL
400 AM CST.

TORNADOES...HAIL TO 1 INCH IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO
70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 50 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST
OF A LINE FROM 10 MILES EAST SOUTHEAST OF CLARKSVILLE TENNESSEE TO
65 MILES EAST NORTHEAST OF OWENSBORO KENTUCKY.

CELLS IN THIS AREA HAVE SHOWN SUPERCELLULAR CHARACTERISTICS.  LOCAL
VAD PROFILES SHOW VERY STRONG LOW LEVEL VERTICAL SHEAR FAVORABLE
FOR ISOLATED TORNADOES AND DAMAGING WINDS NEAR STRONGER CELLS.

AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 1 INCH...EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND
GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS.  A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 500.
