* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  CENTRAL WALLOWA COUNTY IN NORTHEAST OREGON

* UNTIL 830 PM PDT

* AT 627 PM PDT...A NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WEATHER SPOTTER REPORTED
  THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL 11 MILES NORTHEAST OF
  LOSTINE...OR ABOUT 44 MILES NORTHEAST OF LA GRANDE...MOVING
  NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH.

  A WEATHER SPOTTER IN LOSTINE REPORTED  0.94 INCHES OF RAIN FELL 
  IN 15 MINUTES. MANY STREAMS AND CREEKS WILL QUICKLY RISE ABOVE
  BANKFULL. ALSO PEOPLE HEADING INTO CANYONS SHOULD BE AWARE OF 
  RAPID RISES IN WATER AND MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING THAT HAD BEEN ISSUED FOR CENTRAL WALLOWA
   COUNTY IN NORTHEAST OREGON HAS EXPIRED...


THE NARROW BAND OF STORMS THAT PRODUCED VERY HEAVY RAIN THROUGH 
CENTRAL WALLOWA COUNTY NEAR LOSTINE HAS MOVED NORTHEAST OUT OF THE 
STATE.  SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS AROUND LOSTINE MAY STILL BE RUNNING 
HIGH...BUT WIDESPREAD FLASH FLOODING IS NO LONGER EXPECTED.

DO NOT CROSS WATER THAT COVERS ROADWAYS...ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT.

MID AND HIGH LEVEL CLOUDS...ASSOCIATED WITH THE DISTURBANCE THAT
MOVED EAST OF THE CASCADES THIS MORNING...CONTINUE TO LINGER OVER
MOST OF THE FORECAST AREA THIS AFTERNOON.  CLOUD COVER WILL
INFLUENCE THE AMOUNT OF CONVECTION THAT WILL DEVELOP IN THE NEXT 12
HOURS. SPC OUTLOOK HAS NEARLY ALL OF THE FORECAST AREA IN A SLIGHT
RISK OF SEVERE T-STORMS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.  A SHORTWAVE
MOVING INLAND WILL HELP TO TRIGGER T-STORMS AS IT MOVES OVER THE
REGION.  DUE TO STEEP LAPSE RATES...UPPER LEVEL
DIFFLUENCE/DIVERGENCE...AND DECENT VERTICAL SHEAR...THE POTENTIAL
FOR ISOLATED SEVERE STORMS DOES EXIST.  HOWEVER...CLOUD COVER WILL
INHIBIT SOME T-STORM DEVELOPMENT.

MODELS HAVE A GOOD HANDLE OF SYNOPTIC PATTERN...BUT A POOR HANDLE OF
THE INDIVIDUAL DISTURBANCES EMBEDDED IN THE UPPER FLOW. PREFER THE
SLOWER ETA COMPARED TO THE AVN.  ETA KEEPS CONVECTION OVER THE
NORTHERN BLUES AND WALLOWAS THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING.  BY SATURDAY
AFTERNOON...THE FLOW ON THE BOTTOM OF THE TROUGH BECOMES WESTERLY.
ANY SHOWERS WILL MAINLY BE CONFINED TO THE MOUNTAINS AND ONLY
ISOLATED SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED.  OCCASIONAL BREEZY WINDS ARE ALSO
EXPECTED AS GRADIENTS TIGHTEN AT THE SURFACE.  SMITH

EXTENDED...A TROUGH MOVES THROUGH WASHINGTON AND OREGON MONDAY WITH
COOLER AIR AND CHANCE POPS OF SHOWERS AREAWIDE. WITH THE TROUGH AXIS
INTO IDAHO TUESDAY...WILL KEEP SLIGHT CHANCE POPS ONLY FOR THE
MOUNTAINS OF NORTHEAST OREGON AND SOUTHEAST WASHINGTON DUE TO
WRAPAROUND MOISTURE...OTHERWISE DRY AND COOL TUESDAY. A WARMING AND
DqRYING TREND WILL DEVELOP WITH HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT AND AT THE
